Hi, I want to go to an hbcu for sports. But do you think doing a d1 sport takes away from the whole hbcu experience? Such as meeting a lot of people, parties, homecoming, and other events?

Hi, doesn’t matter what you get involved in school, whether sports or organizations, you’ll be making sacrifices! I have never had a spring break off and I have missed events due to my sport. You’ll def meet people and you can party. But just because you can party doesn’t mean you should. And would you rather have that scholarship money or party🤷🏽‍♀️? And this goes for any school not just HBCUs. But, long story short, you can definitely still have an HBCU experience and do sports !
