At 7:03, those "train tracks to nothing" once brought the Ringling Bros. & Barnum and Bailey Circus train cars into downtown St. Petersburg to about 9th Street. From there, the elephants and other circus animals were unloaded and paraded east to the now demolished Bayfront Center Arena, the current location of the Dali Museum. Ringling had their winter headquarters just south of Tampa Bay in Sarasota, and the St. Pete shows were always the first of the new season at the beginning of every January. I grew up in St. Pete during the time it was known as "God's Waiting Room" owing to the large elderly population. Not any more! My hometown has been reborn, turned into a hip and exciting community boasting one of the most scenic downtown waterfronts of any US city. Adam, it's very cool that you have grown fond of St. Pete. And given the city's long history of MLB and spring training, there's tons of baseball history to discover with plenty of Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, and Mickey Mantle locales and stories.

I used to live in Port Richey for a bit. On the week-ends, sometimes, my former fiance and I would head on up to St. Pete. They used to have the most unusual building at the end of the pier. It looked like an upside down pyramid. It had art work shops, autograph/art shops, fancie restaurant and a great chicken restaurant. I love St. Pete. Very charming. Oh, also antiques!

The Tampa Bay Rays are a scrappy team: They don't have a big payroll, superstar "Marquee" players or a fancy stadium, but they DO play with a lot of passion and play hard year after year. Great team! Thanks for another excellent video, Adam!!

I was sad when Dr. BBQ closed. The Tiki bar there, Burnt Ends, was really cool. Saigon Blonde is a great bar as well! The only other place close to a Tiki Bar in St. Pete is Pier Tiki, which is on the St. Pete Pier. The only thing I would call and authentic Tiki Bar in the area is The Honu in Dunedin. We love that place! Enjoy your time here in St. Pete!

That all looks awesome! I absolutely love tiki anything, especially tiki bars and cocktails. We were in Florida at the end of last April before a cruise. Cocoa beach, FL was were we spent our time there, and it was my first time in Florida. I fell in love with the place, and was super excited to see all the tiki bars and tiki decor everywhere. So much color, and so bright! I cant wait to go back to Florida someday. I'm from Wisconsin, and it was the total opposite of the colors we have here in my town, lol.

Indian rocks beach is a beach that's about 10 miles or so north of st pete beach and we used to have an amazing place called tiki gardens. It truly was world famous. It was torn down decades ago. You should google it. Also the train tracks in front of the trop that run east and west used to be active a long time ago.

I ride my Ebike pass that tiki bar a lot because the Skyway Trail goes right by it, I live near downtown close to the Trop, and I live near downtown close to the Trop, and St Petersburg has a 98/100 biking score and 90/100 walking score! You can't get much better than that!

I'm watching your new video and now I realize that was you at the game! I was walking just past the jumbo screens and this super tall guy that looked familiar walked past me going opposite direction...which I found out later I was going too far and past my seats lol I was about to yell out Hi Adam but I wasn't sure...so I just starred jaw open in confusion 😅 Now I know it was you! Also I know you said you are 6'3 im only 5'3 so when we made eye contact directly I froze lol However I was 1st base line seats and I too was sitting with a Dodgers fan, but he enjoyed the game and was a good sport! Saigon Blonde is a cool spot! Was in dt st.pete last summer and had a great time. Tons of bars and nightlife there. Also went to The Landing bar next to Jannus Live. Didn't get the chance to see a show there but ill definitely have to next time
