This spring, students in Prof. Joyce Madancy's HST 285 - The Samurai: Lives, Loves and Legacies explored the evolution of the samurai as a caste, their military and family lives, their passions, and their symbolic meaning across the world. The class enjoyed demonstrations, read first-hand accounts, and viewed a number of well-known and lesser-known samurai films.
