4:23 Back in the day (03-05) I used to be a weekend merchandiser for Pepsi. I pushed a pallet of 2 liters instead of pulling them and they tipped over right where the transition from stockroom to sales floor was. Luckily, only 2 of them landed on their caps (which is what breaks them open) and was able to recover. I was always amazed at how much of that sugary stuff people buy/consume around the the holidays. By the time the display area was topped off the shelves I had filled were almost empty. I worked back in days before the "fridge pack" era so everything was in those giant 24 pack cubes. I don't miss getting up early on the weekends but it was a cool job. People always laughed when I told them that a pallet of Diet was "lighter" than a pallet of regular. Corn syrup has a higher density than aspartame and you can feel the difference when the effect is multiplied by pulling a pallet of it. We're talking pounds lighter.

Ive been merchandising for Dr Pepper/7up for 8 months now. It was hell the first 4 months because i was a floater. 10 hour days were typical and being thrown on random routes was annoying because some stores were very unorganized , ...but then i get my own route. @primo5068
@primo5068 3 жыл бұрын
Rusty Shackleton well, for me i label bad routes that have to do with bad sales reps (rsrs) some knowingly abuse there merch & give them big workloads & when rsrs work they order lite for themselves, they expect rotation but they themselves don’t rotate... frito lay merch are just extra help to help out the rsrs in some of there stores, you pretty much work by yourself most of the time, mostly people you’ll ever talk to will be store receivers, or your sales rep or other vendors. I’d say it’s an easy going job especially when you get the hang of it.

I have 2 buddies that work for Coca-Cola as a merchandiser and I will tell you it is a physically demanding hard job there are their pros and cons every job but be ready to pull very heavy palates to the floor stores have time lines where they will and won't let you on the floor with merchandise it's constantly a very physical position so keep that in mind this is not a gravy position position I'm really surprised the sky gets away with doing his videos and Coca-Cola is not on him about his productivity best of luck to anybody who does this that's young man's work or young ladies work I'm just telling you from personal experience it's not an easy job. As a merchandise where they are taught to spin the bottles with a label space forward when someone walks down the aisle The Bible should be spun to represent the item with the flow of the aisle it's all about attention to details and doing the job and rotation so you can't throw New pop on top of old pop because your boss may do a spot check on you and will identify who is not rotating and that will become an issue and you will lose your job or steps there too lose it. There is also time spent in the back room condensing product rotating to a is rotating to ensure the oldest product goes to the sales 4 while the newest product sits in backstock you are constantly condensing your assigned area. Is responsible for typically sweeping some stores even have you map that area I can tell you from personal experience Walmart is picky. There is your freedom with this job as you get to go store to store but I guarantee you. You are always being tracked.

This guys from use the same pallet and looks at it like like a block puzzle while 7up guys grabs a separate pallet and removes it and organizes on the other pallet by flavor. What are your thoughts on each of their methods and which do you prefer ?

Brandyn Mancinas Bro pepsi and 7up ain’t any better after a while it sucks ass in general I worked for 7up two years and one year pepsi same shit at the end of the day and like you said they don’t appreciate and low ball you I started making 13$ hour at 7up and did hardcore overtime and stores no joke and made it up to 17 but they would make me drive an hour away for work and they would start my mileage reimbursement at the first store past 55 miles! I would lose money just to go to work. Plus they don’t pay you or car maintenance like all the miles you rack up on your car. Not worth it at all and Pepsi has you work like 10 days straight with 1 day off mandatory cause of their shit contract

Coca Cola fucked me over. I live in Tampa Florida and was paid 14.57 an hour and .51 cents every mile I drove. Plus they changed the position to sales Merchandiser where I would have to basically order the product and merchandise the product. Pepsi and Dr Pepper keurig who I now work for both have a higher base pay with not near as much product to move. Coca Cola (at least where I live) works your ass into the dirt without showing any respect or mention of your hard work.

@j.charlesmarr8684
@j.charlesmarr8684 3 жыл бұрын
Sales Reps or AD's come in and look at the shelf and the backstock and make the orders. But there is a system in their tablets that basically suggests what they should order that is based off of sales.

@eryckcastrejon7466
@eryckcastrejon7466 5 жыл бұрын
Jeff Miracle as a merchandiser you don’t need a CDL license because you drive store to store using your own personal vehicle. At my plant with GLCCD people start off as part time merchandisers and work their way to the full time position. At my plant part timers are paid 14.50 per hour and full timers are paid by salary so it depends on which plant you work at, but usually starting off it’s about 17 an hour if you break it down.
