Few people know that Malta 🇲🇹 is a country and even less that a trip to Malta is so cool !! On the last cruise we took, in June 2019, we stopped for a day in Malta and visited Valletta and Mdina.
Malta 🇲🇹 is a destination famous for attracting exchange students - since English is one of the official languages ​​there.
A must-visit stop for any tourist visiting Malta - it is its capital, Valletta, which is an open-air museum.
Valletta was founded in 1566 by the Knights of St. John of Jerusalem, an organization that originated from the Crusades, better known as the Order of Malta.
Another incredible city, close to Valletta, is Mdina 🏛, the former capital of Malta. It is located right in the middle of the island. It is a historic city with churches, monasteries, houses and palaces from the Middle Ages and Baroque times.
From the bus terminal in Valletta, you can take a bus that will take you to Mdina in about half an hour. It is very worth a visit to this medieval city !!
