the jeans look good!! just an idea but i usually sew a stretched 'sewing elastic band' to the back of my skirts/shorts/jeans so that it hugs the waist and it doesnt feel off since the band is at the back, plus it gives room for after meals ^_^

Pro tip for the new kitten, since he's really demanding and wants to steal food, you need to have more authority and now allow him on the table even when there's no food. A clap in ur hands and a loud "no" will condition him to understand it's not allowed. I'm a cat owner and have been for 20+ years and as much as I adore my current baby, he's allowed to do pretty much what he wants except come on the table and steal food. I never allowed it and was very strict in his early age as a kitten and young cat. Now he knows what to do and not do ^^ Putting the cat outside is an option but he feels rejected. Have you tried putting him down right away and say no loudly ? you can also blow in their nose, they will associate it with a "bad" behavior. Cats, more than dogs, are animal of habit and conditionning. They will repeat an allowed behavior as much as they want if you don't prevent or stop it. He chews on your pearls and you just went with the sweetest tone "oh no you can't baby" you need to be loud and clear the second he does it. This is important during the first months :)

The sleeping schedule thing might depend on the parents when we were kids or babies , I think. I've heard of it from my mom before that there's a way to fix the babies being asleep at the wrong time like sleeping at the daytime instead of nighttime. Babies use to do that and I did that too. Well, it doesn't matter anymore now we're grown up.

getting a denim needle for your machine will definitely work! I used a ton of leather for my grad collection and was able to sew most of it at home on my super cheap machine and a thicker needle :)
