A Day in the Iulius Area of Cluj-Napoca, Romania | Moving Abroad Ep.36

I'm excited to be exploring the Iulius area of Cluj-Napoca, Romania! The Iulius Mall is huge! There are over 250 stores to choose from. When you get hungry you can eat at the food court, which has a variety of restaurants to choose from, or catch a movie at the cinema!
After that, I'm going to head over to Iulius Park. It's a beautiful park with a lake. In the warmer months, there are a lot of events and things going on at the park!
To end my day, I am going to take you to a local flower market! I'm really looking forward to spending the day exploring the Iulius area of Cluj-Napoca!

The chimney cake pronunciation is tough for us too because it's actually in Hungarian, not Romanian. It's more like a Hungarian desert, and Transilvania has a Hungarian community due to its history. In short, you'll see more Hungarian stuff in Transilvania than the rest of the country. It's like Los Angeles and Mexico, that kind of thing.

You're sus, haha. Urs actually means Bear in Romanian. There are a lot of bears here, so they went for that name for the beer, Ursus beer, Bear beer. It's actually a very good beer, if I may add. :)

Hi again. The romanians try to be very very polite with foreigners but you can negotiate the price at the vegetable and fruits market, especially if you buy several products. Cristian 🎉

"Nu vorbesc romaneste". That is the first thing you need to learn in romanian. It means "I don`t speak romanian" and they will know that you are not ignoring them. 🙂

Actually "Nu vorbesc românește". Using the right diacritics helps Google Translate to pronounce it correctly.

I know what you mean! When I upgraded my camera, a setting changed that bleached the color when exporting- I didn’t catch it for the first few videos, so that is what you are seeing here. I have fixed it in future videos ☺️
