I think your approach to allowing kids to do something to address it when they get hungry is very reasonable. Also, thanks for being open about anxiety and the fact that therapy can be helpful. As a culture , it’s good to hear about how common anxiety is and also how many folks, with or without it, can benefit from pausing to think things through with a counselor. Hope your semester is off to a good start.

In my country, we have to report mental health issues when being employed, and it's not meant to affect your job retention, but I have seen those who are open "fail to retain" their job in schools... One year contracts become the norm, which tbh is worse for anxiety... I'm glad you are able to handle it well and keep your job, and I wish you all the best

Such a great vlog!! I am tackling the same issue but with lord of the flies and of Mice and men. Your life look so much like mine even though I live in France. It's nice to share about your anxiety because many people have to deal with that too, including me. OK, I'm off to work and I still need to check my Manifest destiny unit.... Never ending job but so rewarding. Still need to wake my kids... Too....

I love your personality ️ ❤️ :-) I keep thinking I want to become a English teacher for middle school or High School because I enjoyed it so much when I went to school and I have no interest in anything medical or legal so I keep coming back to this idea of a career. But I stress because I don't have the best confidence right now cause of depression, I'm only halfway for an Associates, I have sleeve tattoos, worried about the students not doing great on standardized tests, or not finding a job. Should I let these fears hold me back or should I think more positive? Thank you
@shyspeaks9238
@shyspeaks9238 3 жыл бұрын
So sorry you haven't gotten anyone responding to this yet. I don't think you should let those fears hold you back! I'm currently in college now also fighting heavy emotional bouts and anxiety with a tattoo slapped right under my collarbone so whereas we can both go under the matter of concealing for the matter of our kids, a lot more tatted teachers are coming out. Yours are especially easy though, sleeves can be covered by sleeves! And if there's some ink peaking I don't think that will make much of a difference because when everything is officially open schools are going to be on a mass lookout for educators given so many parents had to adapt the role of everything in the house during the pandemic. And it's highschool/middle, they tend to dismiss things a lot more up there versus walking in a kindergarten class with tattoos exposed. Hopefully this helps encourage your decision on education. I am another one of those people who just personally can't see myself doing anything medical or legal, but I've always had a love for kids. I'm hoping to be with the younger ones, but I'll be keeping you in my thoughts, even if you don't pursue teaching!

I have a question, and I understand if you don’t want to answer it. When you first started having kids how did balance being a teacher and a new mom? I want to be a teacher but I also want to be involved in my children’s life because sadly growing my mom was always working and never really around much, at least when I was younger.

I'm studying to be a high school English teacher! Do you ever bring grading, planning, etc. home with you, or do you try to finish it all during your planning period and during the day? Is that even possible? I've heard of some teachers doing that so as not to become too overwhelmed, but I feel like it would be so hard to finish everything!
@TheCaffeinatedClassroom

I will definitely say that I was taking work home with me most days in the beginning, and it gradually got better as time went on. Looking back, though, I didn't have things like KZbin and IG to get hacks and tips from more experienced teachers - if I had that insight, I think it would have been a lot easier to prioritize and create systems!

1. Student need focused feedback early and often and they should be taught how to assess their own learning 2. The most effective assessment addresses problem directed questions that faculty ask themselves 3. Course assessment an intellectual challenge and therefore motivating for the faculty Guys help me to understand this huhu
