I had Guillian Barre Syndrome and went through the full rehab at first I thought OT was a bunch of crap. I told my OT therapist I was never going to do anything she wanted to teach me, her response “so you never plan on brushing your teeth again” 😂 I was obviously in a bitter stage of recovery. Thank God for all the OT and PT workers out there they are needed and VERY appreciated.

Wow! GBS is a very hard thing to go through and I completely understand your frustration. Often times, people don't understand the need of therapy until they need it! I am glad you made a full recovery!

My son has autism and we have been doing OT ever since being diagnosed. In Trinidad OT is not popular, our 1st therapist was amazing but she left the country and then we were searching for on for a while. We finally found an amazing therapist and we started back in January. His new OT is really caring and patient with him and wants to see him succeed. All the best Charisma and may God bless you and all your OT friends. Occupational therapist rock

Way to represent OT on KZbin! As a recent OT grad (August ‘17) this brought back a lot of memories of commuting, and stress of neuro, and the community with your classmates. I remember the stress and workload feeling overwhelming, especially near the end and with passing the Boards, but I will say that it is all SO WORTH IT when you’re practicing in the field you love! On my 2nd year in a rehab hospital and I love every day of it. You’ve got this Charisma!

I don’t know what that girl was talking about, I rarely see any negative comments about Charisma, 99% are positive. Besides, everyone has haters. And, by human nature we tend to remember and see the negative more than we do the positive. So, keep rolling! Charisma, you rock girl...
@bobbieabbott5 жыл бұрын
That's why I became a PTA and a Cota because I understand both disciplines. OT is much more involved because of all the areas that are covered. PT is what you see but OT is behind the scene. I enjoy both but very functional in my approach.

Loved this video Charisma! The editing by Cole was hilarious, too 🤣 I completely understand the struggle of juggling school/studies with everything else in life. I know our stories are different but the struggle is the same! Lol I graduated from Medical School 11 years ago and got married soon after. My husband and I wanted to start a family and it was my decision to be a SAHM for the kids first years. I am now getting back to studying for my license exam after so many years and it’s been so difficult! Sometimes I feel like giving up but I keep pushing myself to keep going. In the end I know it will be worth it. I want to make my children proud of me and of course my parents as they paid for my education and my Dad wouldn’t want anything more than to see me practicing. Juggling it all with a 10yr old and 6 yr old who of course have school, sports etc. ugh I don’t know how I’ll do it but hopefully I will eventually! It’s great to see you pushing yourself to get through this! I know you will and it’s great to get some motivation from you ❤️
