Hey Jess I came across your profile yesterday and you have really amazing content. I'm a Civil Engineering student at UCF I have about a year or so left. I just wanted to point out that we have a Construction Engineering degree and a Civil Engineering degree at our school. For me this was very confusing as it was for many of my fellow students because the programs are so similar. this video really helped clear things up for alot of us, I shared this with my peers as well. long story short.. both degree programs allow you to sit for your F.E exam then your P.E exam, and the two titles can be interchanged professionally. I subscribed to you, keep making us proud!!

You develop those skills over time with hard work. You can do anything you put your mind to it. If you want it you can go out and get it. It's all in your head that your not good at math I wasnt either but with hard work and practice I became good it's all about taking action and learning on your own.👍

LOVE the video. I'm currently on the stage of deciding my major in the college... Civil Engineering sure seems the way to go as the work as you showed seems awesome. However, don't the techies beat Civil Engineers in salaries? Any response would be appreciated!

Well it depends on who you refer to as "techies", and it also depends on what specific segment of the tech world the "techie" works. I would suggest combining business with tech. But if you love math and physics and helping the world in general, then you can stick with engineering. Engineering is more than just about the money. I am currently a fourth year Civil engineering student at MIT.

You can advertise and encourage women to join the construction industry for another 2000 years and it won't change the fact that most women do not want to do any jobs that are physically demanding and dirty in general. What would you rather do? stay out on a construction site and be exposed to the elements or be in a nice warm office, sipping on a hot coffee?

The main difference is that a civil engineer usually deals with "civil structures". These include bridges, roadways, and civil utilities. The construction engineer will deal alot with commercial, residential, and industrial construction. They are both interchangeable however, and a construction engineer can be a civil engineer. A construction engineers schooling is going be based around alot of management practices as well. So if you want to be taught design go towards civil engineering degree, if you want to learn construction methods, practices, and management get a degree in construction management or engineering.
