@TheArmedNurse6 жыл бұрын
Lol I wouldn't consider this a "dream career" because it looks quite boring. Sitting in an office all day sorting out masses of data isn't exactly action-packed like being a doctor or lawyer is.
@MRS.TRIPLE-A3216 жыл бұрын
OutNProud500 and you took the time to write this unnecessary comment because? I’ll be honest, it’s not the career for ME, personally I want to be a forensic pathologist but, it’s not about what I or you think or feel. Everybody has a dream & it’s okay if someone’s dreams doesn’t fit your personal thoughts & ideals. It’s their dream. This is what my man wants to do, what he’s passionate about & studying everyday in college to become. He may not be a “lawyer” or “doctor” but, it doesn’t make Him or anyone else who’s in this field less important. I was taught to give the janitor the same respect as the CEO. So pardon me if I don’t consider your comment as necessary. But I hope WHATEVER job you have, brings you sincere joy, because that’s the first thing that matters, are YOU passionate about what YOU do? Everybody has a purpose, just because it’s not YOUR dream career doesn’t stop it from being a dream career for someone else. So you can take the quotation marks off - It’s still a dream, it’s still a career.
@TheArmedNurse6 жыл бұрын
I meant that comment more in a joking manner, hence the "lol" in the beginning. Didn't mean to offend! I agree that you should do what you're passionate about. I am in college at the moment but I am still unsure what I wanna do entirely. I'm leaning more towards law school after I graduate but I'm also considering PA school. My major at the moment is Information Systems which is why I came to watch this video as it seems to be the career that surrounds an Information Systems degree. After watching, I got unsure whether or not this was for me so now I'm considering either switching to Criminal Justice or Biochemistry.

I am a data analyst with a degree in math. You can easily succeed being good at math but sucking at certain types of programming. I do a lot of work in SQL, R, DAX, and sometimes Python, but working with these is nothing like having to do OOP with C#, or Java (I hate that crap). The most complicated programming you might do is setting up an algorithm. But, if you can figure out the math, then you can do the programming easily. From my experience the one thing analysts have the hardest time doing in this field is being able to tell a simple story out of complicated data. Also, if you have any questions about the work I do feel free to ask.

If this is something that you're interested in go for it. You don't always need a college/university degree to get a entry job in just about all fields despite it begin stated on the application. I'm in the field and I only have a GED. However now that I'm in I'm looking into getting my technical degree. The easiest way in with just a high school diploma is in the retail industry. And from there you work your way up or gain the experience necessary to go to where you envision yourself begin at. Good luck.

@@settnaing199 No problem! I'll give you a little more insight. Statistics - self explanatory. 99% of my work involves this. Linear Algebra - this is the foundation to understanding linear movement in space. This is very important when it comes to machine learning and builds the foundation for understanding linear optimization techniques. Fun class as well :) Linear / Non-Linear Optimization - I can't speak highly enough about these classes. If you want to understand how to optimize a neural network, look no further. The apply to so much else outside of deep learning. Linear optimization (also called linear programming) takes what you learned and teaches you how to optimize a path through space. These are just a few foundation classes. If you are able to, learn how to program techniques you learn in R or Python as well.
