I work as a BSA analyst for a firm, put prior to that I operations.. so when things were processed correctly in the firm operation corrected it, but we were only made aware of balancing issues through finance. lol.. it like hey theres a 7 thousand dollar discrepancy .. I tried to find it, and process it... to clear out the differences for finance lol

Congrats on getting in! For your first semester Baruch chooses your classes for you, but after that it's up to you to find good classes. My biggest recommendation would be to look all the professors up on ratemyprofessor.com and see who has the best rating

you get a bit of training but you are still expected to know whatever skill it is that you're being hired for (in my case, I had to know quite a bit about excel)

Do you need to be master at maths ? To get finance degree and get into finance career

It’s depend on what you want to do in finance , if you have mathematical background you can do a master a financial mathematics or financial engineering, If your goal is to be investment banker you need a master in finance or mba or a bachelors degree in finance , economics or business administration, if you want to work as a financial analyst you need a master in financial analysis, in economics or in accounting

Accounting majors do have a chance but finance is not just accounting oriented. Usually, accounting majors go on to pursue CPA, CMA, ACCA etc and find an internship in audits or so.

Knowing you're a intern working related to finance is amazing i just wanted to what exactly qualifications are required to work in nyc🥺 talking about myself then i have a Bachelor's degree in Commerce (Accounting & Finance) and currently im pursuing Chartered Accountant course from ICAI which is similar to us cpa but i just wanted to confirm if CA degree standalone is a better profile or a additional course is needed like CFA/CPA😢 Please do let me know about these, Thank you
