This was of interest to me as my late wife was a stew for Delta for 15 yrs before she passed away. Christmas shopping was easy. I bought the latest luggage for her, and it wasn't cheap. I remember a Samsonite piece of luggage was close a thousand dollars, but it had everything. Talk about layovers. She had the route from LAX to MEX. One time she called me and said she was going to be late. Another stew was sick and she took her flight,,,,,,,to Argentina, hey no problem. After a few days, she called me. A very good friend of hers want to get engaged and could she take her flight. France as I remember. When she finally came home it was close to 3 weeks later. The dogs didn't even know her and growled.....only kidding...it's a rough life. We had no kids because she wanted to fly. She loved going out that door and going to work. God bless her soul. We were married 15 years, she passed away from breast cancer at the age of 39.

I was working at Japan Air Lines (JAL) in 1980s as cabin attendant! First I was assigned to fly international flights, so quite different from your schedule! But after four years, I moved to “Domestic” department. For three days, we were assigned to take 3-2-3 duties, too. Our flight schedules are 3-2-3-1 in9 days circle, it means 3 days on duties, 2 days off, then again 3 days on duties, and 1day off. So I could make my own private schedule by checking calendar. Backing to flight schedule, this kind of hectic flight schedule was quite few coz it’s really hard!! Mostly in those cases, we stayed in hotel, not coming back to base airport. And flight hour is almost about one hour or longer than that. The longest flight is between Sapporo(Hokkaido) & Naha(Okinawa), it takes about three hours like international flight!! I really enjoyed watching your KZbin, and it reminded me of my enjoyable days! Thank you for your report! Keep on watching your report💕

Being a flight attendant seems exhausting, When I am tired i am very cranky so I think it is very impressive that they can wake up at like 6 in the morning, work two or three flights and still manage to keep their cool, and a cheery mood, for all of the flights.

It is pretty amazing all that the crew endure. I work for the airline but the ramp and customer service and gate.. the earliest I have had to be up was 3:30 am. .. to go in at 530 or 5. So not only does flight crew have crazy hours but so does working at the airport. Perhaps one day I might decide and try for flight attendant 🤞🏼👋

Thank you guys for all that you do for the passengers you serve. Some flight attendants go above and beyond and that is what happened for me. I have a story about two wonderful flight attendants. So due to my health condition I require a port to receive IV medications. I do not know how to this day but the needle in my port came out I don't know if the tape lost its stick or what but it came out. My nurse / caregiver told me we have to put a new one in that I couldn't go the whole flight without my IV meds I needed them and I said to her do I really need to do it you know getting an IV put in is not the most Pleasant thing in the world for me and she said I know your scared but you need your iv she told me she used to be a flight nurse in Lebanon and in the states before she became my full-time caregiver.. and she told me we'll get through it .Two flight attendants that I got close to Kathy and Mary came to check and see if we needed anyting I became good friends with them on our long flight and my nurse/ caregiver was getting the new needle and supplies out of her bag Mary saw the look on my face when my caregiver got the needle out and she asked what was going on and if I was okay and I told her that my caregiver has to put in the new iv and getting one put in isn't the most Pleasant thing in the world and it scares The Living Daylights out of me so Mary asked me if I wanted her and Kathy to be by me for support since they didn't need to do anything at that time since Mary was the cabin manager. I said yes please then Mary said well why don't we go back to the resting area so you can have an actual bed to lay on when she does everything. the reason why they offered was because turns out they both used to work in a hospital as nursing assistants so they were pretty much used to it so Mary told the rest of the crew that there's going to be a medical procedure going on and that we will need to borrow one of the beds on the plane since I'm getting a new iv put in. While my nurse and Kathy were getting my things and taking them back to the rest area Mary took me back and got a nice bed set up for me to lay on they came in with everything including my portable oxygen and all of my IV stuff. Kathy got an empty cart and we put a towel over it so that way my nurse wadad could have a good workplace. Mary and Kathy we're given masks and gloves by my nurse just to be more sterile and clean and to protect me from infection. a couple of the crew members were wondering what was going on since they saw two flight attendants putting on masks and gloves. They knew that they both used to work in a hospital and they let the crew know that they were helping out with a procedure. When it was time to clean and poke Kathy and Mary stayed right by me Kathy was the one that handed my caregiver the things she needed and Mary was the main person that was my support when my caregiver was about to do the poke Mary gave me her hand to hold and right before my caregiver was about to poke Mary told me when she was going to do it and to give me the heads up when my caregiver was about to poke Mary said that she is going to count and after she said three she said she was going to say squeeze and that was my cue to squeeze her hand my caregiver poked and was getting the needle in Kathy and Mary were both telling me that I'm doing really good and that we're almost done. My nurse was singing songs to me in Arabic while she was doing it. while I was holding Mary's hand Kathy told me to just keep breathing. since. my nurse was putting on the tape and Flushing it and getting me all hooked up it was getting a little hard to breathe after all of that so Mary and Kathy help me get my oxygen on and going since I mainly use my oxygen at night or when I need it during the day. After all that they let me lay there and rest for a little bit and they got me a nice blanket to keep me warm After we got me all set up and after they got my oxygen turned on my Nurse, Kathy, and Mary all told me that I did real good

Isn't it amazing how many people don't do this and get to the airport all frazzled and almost out of breath? LOL! Omg, I loved it! I've been in DFW airport earlier this year, before this coronavirus thing, and I got impressed by the organization and everything else. I flew AA and your coworker was as beautiful as you :) Thank you very much for sharing your day with us, Julia! I'm preparing myself to be an international flight attendant and since English is not my native language, it is really nice to hear from you all the specific vocabulary that cabin crew members use in their routines! Thank you! Fly safe!

From your packed meals do I take it that you don’t eat the onboard food provided for crew then? And when you say you “ lay over” do you mean you night stop?
@JettingJulia4 жыл бұрын
We actually are not provided any crew meals! So I always try to meal prep so that I don't have to buy airport food. & yes, "layover" means overnight stop! Thanks for watching :)

@@JettingJulia Really? I thought you get to eat free the airplane food that the passengers eat.. no?
@TheAwkwardTourists4 жыл бұрын
@@be236 if there is food that passengers don't eat, we can eat that. But we are not catered meals for crew

I saw on Instagram that you were in Guadalajara, are you making a video of your trip there?
@JettingJulia4 жыл бұрын
I was there for a really short overnight and it was actually after a really LONG and not fun day of flying so I didn’t film anything, I was too mentally drained and exhausted. Thank you for watching and keeping up with my Instagram! ☺️
