For the future when your changing your plate exchangers , you will make life a lot easier by removing the condense trap , remove diverter valve motor and push lever up and down to clear water held in main exchanger and pump manifold , then instead of moving hot water pipe out of the way simply cut it through 12 inches below boiler then you can fit a straight compression coupler on it which if it has to be removed in the future it’s there ready for you or another engineer to use and get pipe out really quickly . Hope this helps you out for next time ok 👍

@@snapgas9832 The bearing plate usually gets sticky. One of the Worcester trainers told me to clean/dry then rub a graphite pencil around the points where it makes contact with the plastics. Alternatively you can clean an use a little talc 😜. Excellent vlog Chris, keep them coming buddy. 👍

Just put it in service mode then turn the power off and it’ll be in mid posistion

Don't service zone valves mate, not worth it. British gas used to teach this and they've stopped this too . Majority come back.

The gas rate is the biggy on that Greenstar CDi. If it’s down then you’ll know the heat ex is blocked/restricted. I’ve had Worcester’s pass their fan pressure test but then the gas rate has been down. I’d just bite the bullet and change the heat ex, no point wasting your time trying to get that heat ex back. I’d be ordering the fan bearing plate too, as no doubt that’s in a poor state and has probably sheared off 👍
@snapgas98322 жыл бұрын
Lovely cheers mate! I’ve got it ordered for the morning so I’ll just stick that in I do agree that it’s a waste of time trying to clean it so I won’t bother I don’t think I’ll just smash it in! Lol Thanks for your advice mate always welcomed

No point spending 45 minutes trying to clean the main heat exchanger and then to replace it. If cleaning take you 10 mins then yh but I highly doubt it. What I would off done is tried cleaning it, if it take longer then 20 I'm coming back tomorrow with main heat exchanger.
@hali5341 Жыл бұрын
So far I have maybe successful passed one heat exchanger by cleaning it the CDI heat exchanger, only by using plaster board saw and, Worcester kit is rubbish never works in real life senirio maybe in class room environment. Use plaster board saw in the fins, and wash it out above and Infront. Check bearing plate aswell.
