Before commenting regarding the ratio of how this video has been filmed (portrait) please read the following This video wasn’t supposed to be a “vlog” Ive done things a Little bit differently, in what was originally meant to be only a 30 second video, then a 3 minute video, it quickly turned into a 15 minute video. It is all filmed from my phone and in the devils ratio (portrait) I’m just trailing this sort of video to see if you find it interesting. It was never ment to be an actual vlog and was originally meant to be a short tik tok/KZbin shorts video. There is Zero “driving” just what I’m up to on delivery’s and collections. This isn’t what I will do from now on. It was simply something to fill the gap between normal videos 🤙🏻

A great video Luke and very well explained. I watch other truck driver channels here but nobody presents as well as you or as politely. Don't worry about the portrait video here because you kept it tight and slick which compensates for that. I should know as a former national UK radio DJ (Long Wave Radio ATLANTIC 252) and multi award winning broadcaster now turned KZbinr thanks to Covid stuck at home with nothing to do. I'm sure you get the picture. Maybe you would consider doing a brief home video giving people a quick snap shot of life outside the cab. I know that's personal but you have built up a fan base here now. Maybe something for Christmas / New Year. Anyway keep trucking and I look forward to more videos. Stay Safe out there 👍

Takes a time to get used to working time requirements when you start driving. I got a couple of infringements. No biggy but learnt from mistakes. I liked that one, something different. Interesting to see what you general freight guys get up to. But my God your work/break time requirements are confusing. In New Zealand its a lot simpler - after 5.5 hours you need to take a half hour break, after 13 hours you need a 10hr break, and after 70hrs you need a 24hr break, and that's it.
@forsdykemontague10173 жыл бұрын
I’m not a driver but I have to agree, I looked up the driving time rules and work time directive and they are unnecessarily complicated imo. Not just complicated but also far too stringent in their application eg being a few minutes over could lead to a fine etc. This is the kind of ridiculous bureaucracy that the EU come up with and I don’t see the promised bonfire of EU regulation anywhere on the horizon! That said, I imagine NZ does not have the road congestion we have in the U.K. or the dangerous “smart motorways” !

@@forsdykemontague1017 if you fall asleep your causing a lot of carnage…haulage companies were never known for following the rules and they would pressure the driver…putting the onus on the driver makes you listen and be exactly what your supposed to be…a professional driver
@forsdykemontague10173 жыл бұрын
@@johnsharkey1980 Understood. My point is that it’s overly complicated and the penalties on the Driver seem to be harsh, there is a great deal of uncertainty driving on today’s roads where you may hit congestion or a lay-by may be full which no amount of professional planning can foresee, and you have minutes to spare, this must be a stressful situation if an infringement can end in docking of a full days pay !

The answer is simple, and should have always been the way for the UK… Do what Switzerland has always done, and offer work visas only for specified periods of time, to specific trades, with no provision of permanent residency. The ‘Schengen Treaty’ was a capitalist hayday and really f***ed up the UK, with greedy employers getting very cosy with unlimited supplies of cheap labour... The British working class were then shat-upon for 35 years from a very great height indeed, whilst the middle-class grew and grew and grew… What is happening at the moment is only the beginning of a reckoning for this.
