You have an interesting way of falling trees. Most other guys cut the bottom of the notch out first and then the top cut after. Most fallers I have don’t bore cut the back cut. I like the bore cut method because it seems to be a safer method when dealing with back leaners or falling trees in windy conditions. Would you be able to do a video explaining the technique?
@daveyslogging7 күн бұрын
I do things the safest way possible and have been to many game of logging courses. Here’s my video for bore cutting kzbin.info/www/bejne/a6CWh5SLoKuNnbssi=j8jsm10ETzK7BHJj

I never understood those high shallow notches, mine are 1/3-1/2 way in, with about 4"-6" high on top cut, then 1" higher on back cut, I hardly ever use wedges........
@daveyslogging18 күн бұрын
Well for one, it keeps the butt from having short boards. For two, i don’t drop the trees whatever way they are leaning. It’s all directional felling. I deal with a lot of heavy leaning trees that won’t just tip over with a deep notch. Hope that helps you understand and hope you have a blessed New Year

I'm confused with all the plunge cuts seems to be a lot of wasted time you should be able to just cut a notch and do a quick back cut and down the tree goes not trying to be mean just saying
@daveyslogging10 күн бұрын
No, not when you gotta keep the butts clean and come home to family everyday.
@KeithLilly-x6s3 күн бұрын
That technique gives you more control of the tree longer leaving the back strap for last. Nicely done
