Seeing this in 2021. Only one thing I'll say, no matter how modern the local train Mumbai would get, the spirit of these Dabbawallas and the Mumbaikars who travel in Locals wouldn't changed a bit also. Proud to be born In Mumbai.

I liked most is that there is no boss... They, work independently.... No pressures... Wonderful system the dabbawalas have formed..! Taking lunch boxes from so many areas n giving them to the right person is a tough task!

this is amazing to see human spirit how dedicated they are .Walking with so much weight in middle of the city where hundreds other are by your side is mindboggling . As a Management & Economics student of Fiji National University currently pursuing my education, I have never come across such Perfection in Operational Excellence to their customers. Such deep respect from the heart for their punctuality and consistency in deliveries of home-made food to workers. Such complexity of service operations in a heavily densely populated city of Mumbai performed with Dabbawallas peace of mind and no pressure on their work. Such extraordinary co-ordination of work and simple coding of colours and numbers. A perfect case study to present tomorrow to my fellow strategic management class on the Dabbawallas. It'll blow their mind and reduce some to tears. Perfect strategy. I salute you Dabbawallas!

I don't know how they remembered the tiffin owners but very Impressive. It's not a bad thing that these people deliver tiffins because this is their job and they seem to love it. Like they said, they are their own boss, they work without pressure and as long as they like doing what they do, there's no problem.
