As someone who is also in the process of completing a PhD, I found this SO COMPLETELY comforting. Finding a lot of joy and inspiration in this as I start my own thesis-writing-filled day. Thank you, thank you!

Love this! Another PhD student here pushing through those final months. Could relate to so many moments you shared (I made the same comment just yesterday about it being March - no April 🤦♀️). All the very best for your redrafting and getting through these final stages.

I have always enjoyed that we were in similar stages with our thesis. I am planning on handing mine in at the end of the month. So my day today was: waking up at 8, breakfast, getting ready, cleaning the house until noon, having lunch, going for a walk (luckily no rain here) and then going through my tables and adding information for about 5-6 hours. Now I had dinner and watched this. :) Winding down in the evenings is so important for me, too, because otherwise I won't sleep and then a lose a productive morning - or worse get a migraine.

Loved this! I’m in the diss writing phase and hoping to defend in about a year. I’m in Ontario, Canada and we’ve been having terrible rain here too but I try to still take regular walks to clear the mind! Best of luck as you finish up and submit :)

Eeeeh we're in this together. I should be defending summer/early autumn and I'm terrified - mainly of blanking on the spot aha - but realistically I'm sure it'll be fine.

So interesting and thanks for the insights! When I finished my MA a few years ago I swore I would never do anything academic again, but I am starting to have the urge! Also, totally going to buy that ring. Gorgeous!

Aha tbh I’m at that stage - so ready to finally be done with academia but maybe in 10 years I’ll change my mind!

I love these sorts of videos! It's also good to know that you take time for yourself and your wellbeing. I've looked at PhDs (I did my MA in 2011) but I still don't understand how people know what to do or how to even begin lol

This video reminds me when I was writing my MA's dissertation (don't know how it works in the UK but in France we have one in MA) and I feel so stressed 😂 I loved reading articles and books but I hated having to read eveything again and again and again to correct my typos and my wording. I wanted to cry every day 😂

I had many of these days last year while finishing my Doctorate! Wishing I had accomplished more, but glad I accomplished something. You will get there, just keep plugging away a little each day! 💗📚

I'm very glad to hear that Low to mid accomplishment days are pretty common at end stage of PhD aha - it feels like every day I should be doing so much until it's done now!

My approach to tarot is quite similar to yours.. have you tried the literary witches oracle? the book is better than the oracle if I'm being honest, but it is also a good and bookish way to find a prompt for some self-therapy :)

Aha I haven't - it's not really the kind of video game I enjoy but I know Dr Ellie Mackin on insta/tiktok/twitter talks a lot of about video games inspired by antiquity and she is an absolute expert in her stuff!

@@JeansThoughts I'll check her out! I'm not very knowledgeable on ancient times but also wonder about popular movies like Troy. What did they get right, what did they get wrong. It's a fun way to learn history through modern entertainment.
