I grew up on an acreage in Alberta in the 80's where they used to grade and oil(?) the road to reduce the dust.. I used to sit out there and just watch the machines work.. maybe that's why i'm so mesmerized by this?? lol.. great video :)

I love the sound of the plow scraping and how neat it looks after it makes a pass, but man I want him to push the piles back over those banks back further over the edge. It is my biggest pet peave when plowing. But I guess with equipment this size you don't have to worry about frozen snow.

jake games actually the plow is a decent size plow just don't look like it being on the loader I have a Sears suburban garden tractor with a electric plow and with garden tractor tires that look like farm tractor tires it's a beast I can move more snow with it then a 4x4 quad and a bob cat skid loader I even have a homemade loader bucket you can make them out of a metal burning barrel and flat stock angle iron long garage door hinges

The plow fits the loader perfectly notice its width matches the wheels base perfectly. This is critical for anyone that wants to get as close as they can

That is a big plow, look at it compared to the cars as they pass. The 972 is a very large machine and makes the plow look small in comparison. A bigger plow would need to be custom built, like our airport plows, and won't have inexpensive wear parts readily available.

Just love watching. Operated a 988 eons ago but it always had a coal bucket on it. ( appalachia). Never had any training but caught on to running it in about ten min. Always wished they would've had a plow for the road into the strip mine.

Do you have the ride control/float switched on or off? I normally have it switched off for grading work.

Off I'd imagine as well, or he'd be leaving ripples and popping off chip seal if there's any. We have a Cat 930M at work and there's the float option that is fully adjustable for down pressure. We just back drag with it but I'll bet I could adjust it for plow use... if we had a plow for it. We use our CAT 140M (awd) motor grader with a V-plow and a benching wing for what the 10 wheelers can't get through.

akhil krishna ride control allows the machine hydraulics to have a little cushion and give a smoother in the ride. Float- is a function to allow the boom to “float “ and not apply hydraulic force. Float is not used in snow removal.
