Amazingly they do fly. Look up 'double suspension gallop' for some slow motion films its a wonderful trick of nature that cheetahs and sighthounds can perform. They lift themselves off the ground and glide through the air legs out stretched like Superman.

Wunderschön zu sehen wie die beiden ihren Fun haben! Ich bin ja selber stolzer Freund eines tolles Whippets ( vor 3 Wochen waren es noch zwei, leider musste uns einer wegen Nierenversagen verlassen)! Für mich sind es die tollsten Hunde überhaupt. Ich bin aufgewachsen mit Whippets und komm nicht mehr von ihnen weg, einmal Whippet immer Whippet! Great video. I have a 6 year old bitch who loves life like these guys. To anyone thinking of getting one I would say they are pretty much the perfect dog as long as you can let them run free fairly regularly. Mine now gets Saturday and Sunday running free and the rest of the week we just walk for 30 minutes on the lead, once a day. If she gets restless, then we go down to the beach! Apart from that, they just want to be fed and then they'll sleep. Very good natured, and don't have a mean bone in their body (unless you're a rabbit or other small, fast moving creature). Usual stuff applies though - dogs are very tying. Please think carefully before you commit. I'm lucky. My wife and I are of one mind on this. We holiday in the UK and have same opinion. If the whippet can't come, we don't want to come either.

The place is breathaking....the dogs are...more then beautiful...they are full of jou of life, create for running like lighting. For them run is like swim for a Terranova (not sure is the correct name in English...you know, these dogs whit black fur, often trained for rescue people in water...). And the video is special. You did a great job...whit a great music😎. BRAVO... I saved in my files, so I can watch whatever I want to. Sorry for my English😧

I have been researching Whippets and everything I read says never to let them run off leash except in a fenced-in area. But the Internet is full of videos of Whippets running like mad in the open. I’m assuming that as long as you are not near a road and your dogs have a decent recall, it can be done safely. What a beautiful site to see them run freely…

Beautiful vid of 2 beautiful Whippets. I love their 'Jekyll and Hyde' personality...docile and mild mannered at home, and speeding bullets when out in the open. I'm sure they slept very soundly the following day after that day at the beach. Lovely!

SIGHTHOUNDS - simply ADORABLE!! The most delightful dogs to have as part of your family. Just love the brindle jumper!! The acceleration of sighthounds never ceases to amaze me. I envy you Alex. Sadly, I lost my gorgeous fawn, broken-coated lurcher Rosie (almost a greyhound - she was FAST), in October 2018, after 13 years of joy and taking advantage of me(!), and I'm still missing her and her incredibly entertaining character desperately. :-( :-( Thanks for your videos. (At least they help) (Pity about the "music"(?) on your videos)

My favorite whippet maneuver is when the one being chased does a 360 and is now in back of, and chasing, the former chaser. (Mine did this all the time.)

These two look soooo happy!!! ♥️ But then the surroundings are so great for them. Unfortunately I see too many people with these lovely animals in surroundings where they don't dare to let them run free, and they are kept on the leash too often. Only those people who can provide walks and runs like this one should get these high class runners, in my opinion. Greetings from Germany.

Marsha - They are the fastest couch potato's in the world. I have two 75 year old friends who wanted a dog but were worried about the exercise part. I surprised them with a greyhound, at first they were very concerned. Here we are 4 years later and they reckon they wouldn't change her for the world. Whilst exercise is suggested obviously, its less important when they get older. Walks are fine, or they can run around the yard very happily. Ebony spends most of her time on the lounge between my friends, sleeping and snoring. Bus as soon as the back door is opened, she's off for a run in the yard. Beautiful placid animals.

Paweekarn S. Slow Mo is tricky. At normal speed you can't see any running motion. It's just blur. Which is nice sometimes but I don't think you get to appreciate the performance.
