We have a Kelpie x Whippet who loves the beach too. Sometimes she’s brave, like a Kelpie, sometimes she harnesses her inner whippet and is scared of thunder....rain....or a change in routine.

fact is they normally hate getting wet. unless you force them or they see a duck. yours looks very happy in water.

unfortantly my whippet reggie died he had back problems and when he was healing we took him to swimming lessons i have a new whippet now named franco an someday i want to go swimming with him

Where is this fantastic beach for dogs? Unfortunately there are so many beaches in Europe where dogs are not allowed to run either free or on the leash.

Have you never watched them running flat out in about 6 inches of water and enjoying their pleasure, and at the same time thinking, please don't stand on glass, or a sharp rock but, no they're loving it so be it.

My whippet does too! I suppose he got traumatised when he fell out of a rowing boat, into really deep water! Tbh they are good swimmers, just most of them hate getting wet! 😂

I brought ours in the pool when she was a puppy and I swear that 4 more legs materialized from somewhere. They were kicking and flailing everywhere and we haven’t gotten her anywhere near water ever again. Ps don’t ask me about we bathe her.........

whippets dont seem like natural swimmers, they swim quite awkardly. labradors are great at swimming or at least mine is lol!
