I had a hoodstack for about a week haha I daily a 14 with a D&J enforcer that’ll make about 1750hp. I tow everything from a camper to a dump trailer/skid steer and drive my kids to school in it. Load the right tunes in it, keep up on maintenance and it drives better than anything on the road

Quick question on your rear suspension setup, I just got caltracs and I’m looking to get rid of the shocks mounting in the bottom of my bed, I saw yours are behind the axel. What’s the benefit behind that and how hard is it to switch over to your setup?
@FrankBUILTperformance
@FrankBUILTperformance Жыл бұрын
Sorry for the way late reply, but I did the rear shocks for a more even dampening when launching. This was pretty easy with the Firepunk weld on kit & a piece of 1 3/4” pipe for the top mount

Awesome video bro I just recently started seeing your content and been watching them. Question for you I have a 2019 5th gen do you think I can swap to a 188/220 cam with the new lifters or swap lifters for tappets? I put 4th gen pushrods and and springs. I don't want to be the test dummy...lol keep the video coming bro
@FrankBUILTperformance
@FrankBUILTperformance Жыл бұрын
Really appreciate it brotha! Honestly I have not experience with the 5th Gen engines as far as that goes. Definitely a questions for Freedom Engines, D&J, or Hamilton imo!

Can someone pls explain what the torque converter lock up is and does? And the difference between locking it in 2nd or overdrive and such. Thanks
@FrankBUILTperformance
@FrankBUILTperformance Жыл бұрын
Torque converter lock up just means 100% converter engagement. No slip. It’s like letting the clutch all the way out in a manual

Hey man I’m a bit late to the video but the transmission 47re for my 01 does the fmvb have to be wired up different since it’s a 4 speed overdrive cause I heard you say your toggle is lock up and 4th gear. Sorry for the confusion question I just don’t want to wire it bad and blow the transmission 😂
@FrankBUILTperformance
@FrankBUILTperformance 13 күн бұрын
@@michaeljohnson701 I call it 4th gear but it’s OD. So it’s the same

So when do you shift. Coming from stock I guess it takes some getting us too seeing the rpm’s running close to 3k. Also are there any pitfalls running the 48 at highway speeds like 70-90mph let’s say for like a road trip?
@FrankBUILTperformance
@FrankBUILTperformance Жыл бұрын
Just like a manual you learn the power band and sound. Depending on your tire size and gearing will be the deciding factor on the highway speeds

What pitfalls would you think would exist? They came factory, there’s zero issues with a 48 at highway speed

I left it on because I originally used my truck to trial my 48RE builds so it had a non FMVB in it a couple times. Its coming out now to go permanent FMVB.

Sadly gotta go with reputable people from the start. The local trans shop just don’t do it. The big name people may cost a little extra but worth the cost as it’ll be built right the first time. 48 swap from firepunk in mine with almost 900hp and still have any trouble. I beat the piss out of it too lol
