Have you tried nanda block tyres on this car with metal 12mm to 17mm adapters? Work very well although idk if they strain the gearbox. My original wheel cracked at the spoke 😬.

Hi, got a couple of questions, what brushless combo are you running and which pinion gear are you running. Awesome driving btw!

kzbin.info/www/bejne/sKmvfIB6aM1siM0 This video is of the same car but just has a different body shell. I used a GoolRC/OCday (which are the same products just different branding) esc and motor. The motor is 3900kv and the esc is 60a. I bought them off Ebay. I used the stock pinion which I think is 18T or maybe 21T. Gives a top speed on 3s of 40mph and 30mph on 2s.

Ok thanks so much

I ordered the brushless system and pinion and am so excited for the brushless install!

Are you running axle extenders on this and if so how are they holding up?
@budgetrccars93854 жыл бұрын
Yes I am running 25mm axle extenders and they have worked really well and had no problems. The reason why I extended by so much was that I found the car was rolling over on cornering far too easily. The down side is that running flat out in a straight line its not as stable as before because the setup is wider. Its still good for speeds upto 35mph but when you try to push past 40mph it just ends up in a spin. (at least it doesn't roll over 😂) I had to modify the extenders to fit as the cars axles are thicker where the axle pin goes through (see link below) compared to other brands/models so you have to drill out the axle extender before fitting. It's tricky to do but I managed with a ring ended spanner and a cordless drill. A pillar drill with a clamp to hold the axle extender would be the perfect way to do it. www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BSD-Racing-REAR-AXLE-BS213-005/313025025312?hash=item48e1bed520:g:ZXYAAOSwiMteaPO6

@@budgetrccars9385 After seeing yours I took the plunge and bought some. I've not had any problems with speed instability but like you I had to mod the extensions because of the shoulders on the axles. I'm quite happy now with the BSD cars but another way to stop it flicking over is change to some harder tyres. This makes a difference as well. The BSD's may not be the top cars out there but mine is as tough as old boots and I really like the price of the spares. Definitely good bashing cars.

For a (relatively) cheap car the desert assault is pretty strong. The only part I have broken a few times is the diff gearbox bulkhead where I have snapped the suspension arms off the bulkhead. So if you do jump your car then best to keep a spare in your parts box. Part no. is BS213-010 and is about £4-£5.
