Callie has matured into a beautiful dog! So, I'm sitting here thinking "why not til the mud, it won't hurt it?" Thanks for clearing that up! But I would think it will help dry it up. The calf is looking great. I never think you are trying to make a pet of him. He needs to be comfortable around you. Macy!!! I remember that age. And BTW, I think it's so great you help Mrs FTR with dinner. I bet she really appreciates it. Your little guy is growing up so quickly! He loves your cooking. I see you are going to get rain. Hope it's not like the last time but I know rain is welcome there. Maybe the storm will bring on that calf.

Another satisfying real life video - interesting assortment of daily farm activities including plowing up the “desert floor” garden plot, smoothing out rutted road surface and very typical little child’s “nope” reply to offered food. Tyler: Enjoy watching all your videos. I come from generations of farmers and ranchers and dairymen. Every video you make just reinforces why I left the FFA years ago and set my sights on a law degree. Your daily work in the life of a small farmer is awesome but hard. I remember all too well the constant chores, barn cleaning, putting up and throwing down hay and twice daily milking. I don’t regret it but I’d not exchange the cattle for the courtroom. Thank you for sharing and letting us vicariously enjoy the life you’ve made for your wife and children. Respectfully, W.S.

Still a few months away for me in Ontario 🇨🇦 before I can work my veg garden. (A little blizzard underway at the moment.) It’s taken me about 5 years to amend the soil so that it is soft and friable. I still add to it every spring and fall: kitchen compost, bagged manure, chopped leaves, straw, bedding mulch from a nearby equestrian centre etc. I started with clay which is what you have as well, I think? Last year’s big success- terrific spuds. Just pressed seed spuds gently into the prepped ground and covered them with 6-8” of straw. No weeds, easy to harvest.
@cajunnathan4586
@cajunnathan4586 Жыл бұрын
The cracking in the soil is an indication that you have a heavy CLAY soil. It would be to your advantage to spread and till in some sand to help break up that Clay. The addition of sand will make the ground easier to cultivate once planted

Can't help with the pulley, but just a suggestion that you straighten out that radius rod before you paint. Those tend to get bent from the front axle pin being worn and rocking back. Impacts, too, but the front axle is a common culprit.

I highly recommend "Weedless Gardening" by Lee Reich. Tilling is the worst thing you can do to soil. I haven't tilled in 25 years. I can drive a piece of rebar by hand into the soil 18 inches or more. Also you'd probably enjoy from Gabe Brown's "Dirt to Soil."
