As a New Yorker who's had Russ & Daughters plenty of times, this story is amazing. If you told me that I'd watch an entire youtube video in Ukrainian, I'd have called you a liar, but I thoroughly enjoyed this.

This story saddens me that the Ukrainian women happily escaped the war, while the young men had to stay behind and fight

What a beautiful human being. As a regular customer of NYC’s best bagel shops, including Russ and Daughters, I love seeing the stories behind the talented people who make our meals possible. Nothing but admiration and respect for Vita and her family, and we are so lucky to have them here in our city. Wishing nothing but the best for them.

Dude, are you afraid that she beat out experienced non-immigrant/native US applicants for that job? Or are you just implying that she was given special consideration? She said that it took a long time for her to find a job, I don't think the bagel shop had a sign on the window that says "Now hiring, experienced bakers preferred, Ukrainian immigrants only"
