I’ve been watching your vlogs since around 2019/2020? The first vlogs I remember were the cozy autumn decorating videos in your cottage… anyway, it has been truly lovely watching your motherhood journey. Thank you for sharing little pieces of your life with us. I respect you so much for protecting your son’s privacy & advocating for him. You & Dom are wonderful parents🥰 Kay, your thoughtful intentionality shine in everything you do & share with us. Your videos are a gift like revisiting the early days of parenthood in a heartwarming, peaceful way. Unfortunately I had pretty severe PPD (if my current self could, I would go back in time and help my past self seek treatment) my nervous system was a chaotic unregulated mess and hubby was frequently TDY (temporary assignment anywhere from a couple weeks to a few months) and also deployed within my kiddos first 2 years… all this to say your vlogs remind me of the glimmers & lovely moments of mom life with littles and I wanted to express my thanks for that. 🥰 wishing you all happy holidays and a magical 2025.

Giving a boy a doll to play with helps them to develop fathering skills. So many men have no idea how to dress their baby or hold them safely, but the ones who had a doll growing up are already prepared. Good on you for this. I wish more parents would get over "boys toys vs girls toys".

My son had a buggy because his sister had a pram. She pushed our cats around in it and he pushed his cars in his. He also dressed up in girl clothes from the dressing up box. He lives with his girlfriend now , has a good job and is a well rounded individual.

Kay, I applaud you for giving Charlie a baby doll!! Years ago when my daughter was a toddler I looked after a little boy around her age. He loved playing with her little kitchen. His mom wanted to get him one for Christmas, but his dad said no because it was "a girl toy". It made me a little angry. A lot of the best chefs in the world are men. And as far as dolls go, most men will become fathers. I see nothing wrong with boys playing with baby dolls and developing nurturing skills at a young age. I'm sure Charlie is loving his baby he got for Christmas!!

Good for you giving Charlie the toys he's interested in rather than worrying about false dichotomies re. 'boy toys' and 'girl toys', which after all do not exist! My two girls (3, and 15 months) both love tractors, train sets, Duplo, science kits, etc, as well as dolls and pink 😁. Love your slow relaxed vlogs

I did the same whit my son (back in the 80s) He loved his doll and teddybear, And thats the most important, give our children toys to play whit, that they are realy interessting in and like. So you do great. I hope you understand what I ment.

Like you, I can’t relax in a mess. I tidy every day as well. Keeping on top of it is much better than dealing with a HUGE mess and dirt as well. My boys are 37 and 43 but I remember the days you are living so well. The days are long, but the years are short. You are doing fabulous 😊. PS. My boys both loved baby dolls for a while.

My son used to let a doll and he wanted a pram which I found for 50p in a church sale, my neighbour was quite nasty with her comment because of giving my son dolls, well he is now the most amazing day to 2 children so he must have always been a nurturing person. Charlie's doll is so cute too.

Hi Kay, hope you and your family had a lovely Christmas. We gave my Dad a Doro phone, honestly it’s the perfect phone for elder relatives who just need something simple to keep in contact with. It’s a loud ring so he could hear it and it just gave us peace of mind that it was simple to use and we could reach him when we needed to.

I’m the same, I do all my cleaning in the morning when I have more energy. I also cook in the mornings, then warm up the meal later in the day, when possible. Each kid is different. Our oldest was anything sports. His first word was ball. The younger is mechanical. Anything he could build, put together, and take apart. He loved leggos. ❤
