And I know ADTR wasn't thinking of the military or anything like that when they wrote this, but I'll tell you what, there's a hell of a lot of troops that can relate to this song.

I'm GenX and have recently discovered this song. Heartbreaking song. Actually brought a tear to me GenX eyes. Made me remember my marriage while active duty and overseas while my wife was in the States. Words like this were playing in my head and on my music player (Seether "Broken", Evanescence "Missing", Lonestar "I'm already there", 3 Doors Down "When I'm Gone"). And just like in this song, it didn't work out as I wished and hoped 😞 So this song is truly a painful, bittersweet gem of a song.
