This video brings back some nostalgia and she has many great photos especially the one with the dog sitting on the muni bus is my favorite, love the neighborhoods she is walking thru in this video, lots going on in the background and at 20:43 she walks by a box truck that is parked which is a graffiti tribute piece to a writer ORFN…he was a very prolific street graffiti artist and his work in San Francisco is iconic but unfortunately he passed away a few years back but it’s great to see the tributes. Be safe and never stop taking pictures lady.

Actually spoke with a friend and we were speculating who was going to be interviewed and I hoped Rhonda would be so I’m so happy to see her! She’s one of the most consistent & active photographers in the street community and she definitely deserves more attention so I’m thrilled you had the chance to meet up.

I like the SF photographers use "regular" and "affordable" cameras. NY photographers all seem to use Leica cameras. I don't have $10,000.

It's interesting to see the NY crowd typically using Leicas and the SF crew using point and shoots. No judgement, obviously, because gear doesn't matter. Just an observation
@danicee7 ай бұрын
I’m in NYC and most of the people I know use Ricohs and point and shoots. The people that hang out in midtown tend to have Leicas but they use other gear, too. There was a point when most people were saving up for a Leica & then the pandemic happened and people stopped taking photos. I think Ricoh and Fuji has been enticing a lot of people but Leica is still very popular. And more people are using medium format film cameras now which I think is interesting because that’s not ideal for street, at least.

There are a lot of leicas running through sf tbh

@@danicee I never shot medium format so I can’t say much about it. I shoot with a pretty big DSLR though. Aren’t there some “compact” medium format cameras like the Mamiya 7 that could handle street? It’s still slower than a compact 35mm but i can’t imagine it’s that bad

Great video, again, she (and the video) reminds me of Shara Nelson from the song "Unfinished Sympathy", a song by the English trip hop (= not hip hop) group Massive Attack 1991 whilst walking the street. Great song. Good questions by Pauli and interesting answers by Rhonda. Love the audio QR codes next to the photos, was a bit flabbergasted by the idea, excellent !!! Beautiful shots.
