Seems so. I'm surprised too. I'm exited if this is true. I mean if that's the case, It doesen't make sense anymore, why he is not allowed to meet mao maos mother after coming back explaining and apologising for the situation. Seems like he truly loved her mother. Why was'ny he allowed to buy her free and live with them as family back then? Maybe something more happened, what we dont know yet. I'm confused.

@@twentyrosesimo everything you said is true but its just the fact that he left her for 3 years(i think it was 3). Yes he didnt meant too but the fact that he did is what sealed her doom. There's a theory that Maomao's mom is the daughter of the old lady who runs the brothel so the nickname Maomao has given her of "granny" is actually more accurate than we think (i cant remember but it might actually already be confirmed) so imagine your daughter being left pregnant by a guy who promised to not leave her or at the very least come back and take her out of there, and then never doing so watching ur daughter wither away and having your business ruined as well bc at the time this caused them a big scandal. So forcing your daughter to take customers because there's no other way to make money and bc of this her catching an incurable disease and being left in the state she is in. All because of this dude who won her daughters heart and then left her to die basically, all of a sudden years later coming back and claiming he wants to see her or buy her. Of course a simple apology and explanation isn't going to cut it.

Lakan got checkmated the moment he agreed to the rules, even if he knows the drink was alcohol a quit would have been an instant Maomao win, and he would have played the same way so Maomao doesn't drink the "third poison" regardless. 😂

Amazing how they spent 22 episodes before this building Maomao up to be this brilliant medicinal detective who was going to have this ultimate showdown with her dad, and instead of any grand scheme or trick, this all boiled down to "I know my dad is absolute lightweight". What an amazing punchline. XD

I wish the anime had included that what Maomao actually put in the alcohol was a sugar and salt mixture to have the alcohol absorb faster, but I guess adding more spirits to alcohol makes sense (though not for how drunk he got that quickly)

jinshi is definately in love with her becuase she treats hi differntly than any other girl he knows, maomao is too dense to notice though and believes that jinshi is a unich who has no use for thought like love

Jinshi initially thought she was interesting but then he fell hard and fast. You can tell by the garden party when he gets distressed by her past. Then when she gets fired Gaoshun mentions how he’s not treating her like a toy cause he was trying to do what she wanted instead of prioritizing himself
