RIP Chris. I never met you but I felt like I knew you after listening to the Dopey Podcast. Dave and yourself had that special something. As hard as it is I sometimes listen to old episodes of Dopey just to hear your innocent laugh. I am an addict from Australia with 10 years clean of Heroin and we are so lucky here that Fentanyl is a rare thing here. Most overdoses in Australia are addicts mixing heroin with benzos, especially true if you have had a bit of clean time. Stay safe everyone out there. Toodles for Chris ❤

Chris has taught me two things: addiction looks nobody in the face. You can be a good person, intelligent, sweet, or an ignorant asshole, it will get the best of you anyhow. Secondly, recovery never ends. No ten year medal will ever see you safe from relapse. The temptation is always there, your mind never forgets the beautiful feeling that being high is, because sadly that’s the ultimate truth: getting high is extremely, incredibly pleasant. Once down the rabbit hole, it’s you and your willpower for the rest of your life!

It's painful and it is an example of the seriousness of addiction. Some people can't say no to cheese cake so imagine being driven to drugs and alcohol that has such a profound effect on your psyche? I can't imagine the struggle. Chris was a great guy in a huge struggle😥

Sadly, Chris died of an overdose on July 24, 2018. He had 4 years clean and was working on his doctorate. He had heroin and cocaine in his system.

Also fentanyl. For addicts who relapse after years and last used before fent started appearing, it’s a deadly trap. The difference between a pleasant high and a deadly OD is almost impossible to tell :(

Somehow I imagined Chris’ eyes to be wider apart. After seeing Chris AND Dave with ojos on, I must say that I think Dave is the attractive one, contrary to the common perception....what am I doing with my life? I left several comments on different Dave/Chris videos. All of them are about Dopey eyes, or the void therein. It’s 4 AM! I’m on speed....MY EYEBALLS ARE IN! But I can’t look at them, only reflections! Mirrors steal my soul maybe! Do I have DOPEY eyes?? Probably just DOPE eyes...but I can’t be sure. What I see could be a dream of 10,000 things! Maybe I’m actually robbing a vet clinic, in a Xanax stupor, but I can only sleep on xany. No activities. I think I DO have eyes!!! Woa......I see...wild. SPEED! UP! Ice cream for special occasions only kids....
