What a sad end to 2023 with the loss of nicks mum Rita who ran the phones and office for the last 10 years. She passed very suddenly and it was a great shock to us all.
It 2024 and we’re back , new gravel driveway , walling , slabs and steps as well as the usual laughs.
We’d also like to wish Nick a happy 40th birthday we appreciate it’s been a tough one for him 👊🏼

I’m just chilling and have 5 mins…. So my part is …. All contact come to me , so emails , calls, stresses, quotes I deal with I quote 90% of the work that keeps all of us in work, I’m on site most days probs 30-40hrs a week ontop of all that. For example I’ve been out both mornings this weekend why everyone’s relaxing … and I also create most , edit and do all our media.. Onsite I’m site manager. I arrange all plant , grab hire. Materials to and from site … And on top of that I probably muck in 70%of the time when not filming … lay blocks , clean , Ect long story short I probably hour wise do more hours than all the others … so forgive me if I don’t also push the barrows at times but I’m tired.😂😂👊🏼👊🏼 I bet I do 50-70hr weeks most week and deffo in the summer months !!! If anyone has ran a company they know that …. Like Dj he might not of dropped our stone this week or collected the muck.. but he’s maintained the trucks , sorts the staff , him and burn book the work in organise everything … fuel , tax , vat blaa blaa It’s ignorant and quite honestly a labourer mentality to assume they work the hardest!! At times physically yes… but when there in bed in the evening or weekend … who’s sorting the work for the teams and organising ? My mum died and I wasn’t there physically but I arranged everything , sorted the wages , did the years accounts ect ect ….you don’t get a rest if you want to achieve anything !!

Just came across this channel, I've been a paver since I left school, I'm from Newcastle done loads of jobs in Leeds, Sheffield, Mansfield, Nottingham. I also lost my mother month before my 40th birthday the pain still feels like yesterday, my advice keep working hard and keep the mind occupied, and never go down the drink path. P.s good friends around you is vital best wishes ❤

@BPPavingnottingham At the beginning it was tough holding it together as second in command of the team there was a few times I broke down on the job, but its always good to let it out. Bottling it up can be drastic, paving is so enjoyable and ultra rewarding when customers praise your work. You'll be a much stronger person this time next year.

Yeah we’re slowly getting used to it … sometimes you can take things to heart but that’s just how it goes if you’re on KZbin… even with todays video someone’s there carrying on for a response to feel special (I’ve pinned the comment ) there just sad individuals. What do I do 😂😂🙈🙈 While the boys are asleep this weekend I’ve been out quoting both sat/sunday 8am.. who takes the calls , organises the materials , deals with the customers , banks , accountants , advertisers, the YouTubing …. And am still on site probably 30-40hrs a week 😂😂🙈🙈 honestly

Sorry to hear about your mum Nik not nice mate. A good video to start the year. BTW I hope you did not block off the mistety pipe coming from the house. If I'm correct Its a water relief pipe to allow water to escape from under the floor of the house. Even though it had muck in it the water would have still been able to escape. We have one of those pipes from our house for that very reason.

Sorry to hear about your Mum Nick, my Mum passed away last year too. Stay strong and keep up the good work, it would have been my Mum’s birthday on the 26/11/2023, so a bad day for us both. Top work as per usual, and to top it all off our road was devastated by the tornado in December, 10 million pounds worth of damage to the whole estate.

Find yourself a phonebox with polycarbonate lower windows and pop the beading out and take a sheet of that, I think that's what people used to do when I worked repairing them because I could guarantee that if I went and replaced a lower piece of polycarbonate I would be back every day to replace it because it would be gone again, there must have been someone with an expensive greenhouse after it was reglazed with poly lol

@@BPPavingnottingham I know its horrible, my mom lived next door but one on the day I had this weird something not rite feeling , sent our son round no answer but we had a key me and my son went round again went in all in darkness I just knew what was coming , she was sat in the same chair my dad died in one she never sat in since then but there she was I could tell she had gone horrible time , then eventually we had to clear her house out to sell that was the worst thing ever we felt cheeky going through her stuff , I have a loft full of her things still could not bare to let her stuff go , death is the one thing that is guaranteed but we humans still can’t cope with it , I dont think you get over it you learn to live with it , but mate they are always with you , out the blue I hear both my mom and dads voices it’s weird but it does happen and unexpectedly.

Hi Nick and Team Firstly I am so sorry to hear about your mum passing. She's raised a good'un in you and she must have been very proud of you pal Belated happy birthday.....seems odd saying that after your news but as someone who has lost his mum, dad and sister I know also that life moves on too. I have to say your impressions of Eddie Abbew did make me laugh. I don't agree with everything he says as living his lifestyle is certainly a lot more intense over convenience however he's so right about the "Shhhiiiiit" they put into food these days. Ever make you wonder why the more ingredients they put in the cheaper food gets! 😮😮😮. As a common rule now I don't eat much that has sugar in the first three ingredients on packaging. I get what you mean about routine and getting back to it ....although I did have a fortnight off over Christmas which is the longest breaks I've had in 37 years and I enjoyed it. The new project looks great and as per will transform the property. I love to see how it goes from the original dig out to the finished washed and brushed finish. I'll guess you're that used to it now it's more about finishing the job and onto the next one but from a subscriber point of view it's always a little "buzz" and not "Shhhiiiiit!"😂😂 I see you've enjoyed and remembered plenty of Graham Hancock ! I find him so interesting...the information he's carries is amazing. Cracking Vlog! Be happy, be safe , Gary 🙏
