Dezmond, I appreciate that you don't just read whatever is popular on Bboktube/Booktok. I also like your concise description of the book to help us, the watcher, get an idea if it's our cup of tea. I end up adding a lot to my TBR from your videos.

I only found out about this channel because Google/KZbin was all like 'You'll like this video so we recommend that you watch it'. 🤣 I love books and I love booktube. Can't believe I didn't know that this channel even existed, either. Which is sad because the only way I found out about this channel was finding a random video that was recommended by the site.

A friend told me to read to page 100. If it doesn’t grab you then put it down and move on to the next book. Since I started doing this I’ve read some good books that I would have put down before. There are times that a book didn’t grab me until page 70 or 80.

You're right older characters are left out of a lot of fiction. I think you will enjoy Our Gen.

I certainly hope that someone who is 55 isn’t considered “elder” because I’m “elderer” than 55 and I sure as heck don’t feel old! Drowning, Falling 😳…..yikes. I once was over halfway through a mystery story being all proud of myself that I was really picking up on the clues and figuring things out…..until I realized I had already read it when it had been sold with a different cover 😂. You just make laugh…I love your made-up sayings (“That’s actually not what they say at all”, “You’ll live, I’ll live, we’ll all live”). For some reason I never do audio books. I did listen along with the audio book of I Take My Coffee Black while I was also following along in the physical copy. Turned out it was a good idea because Tyler Merritt included a lot of extra stories and commentary in the audio version. Thanks for the enjoyable 18 minutes. 😊

If the audio book isn't working out and I had enough genuine interest in the book in the first place, I'm definitely picking up the physical book! Yes, bc my internal narrator always get it right. Thank you

I've already bought 25 books this month. One of my favs this year was 880 pages, it was A Day of Fallen Night by Samantha Shannon. The other 880 pager was Anna Karenina and that was a bit of a struggle lol Sometimes page count can be deceptive, The Vampire Archives is 1000ish pages and the audiobook is 81 hours!

There are definitely times when if a book isn't working in one format I'll jump to another, but it depends. I am more likely to push through books I don't love on audio, so if the physical isn't working sometimes I'll try audio before dnfing

I just found your page. An American Marriage was NOT good on audio to me either. I will try it in print. Sparrow was so long on audio because the narrator was reading slow as molasses. I listened on Libby with the speed on 1.6😂
@DezmondZ7 ай бұрын
If I listen to it I’ll have to speed it up as well. I wouldn’t survive it listening on regular speed.
