I’ve only just started listening. The way I understand it is progesterone = pleasure hormone. So the more pleasure/play/creativity in our lives, the more progesterone our bodies will produce. The more stress and disconnection with pleasure, the lack of progesterone made.

I took progesterone pessaries for the first few weeks of pregnancy which prevented miscarriage (miscarried my previous one at 9 weeks). Praise God through Jesus in His holy spirits power 🙏💖

I loved this! I really would like to know what does it mean if someone is very sensitive to soy, broccili, caulifower, brussel sprouts, cabbage ect and is estrogen sensitive? As someone with adrenal/inflamitory PCOS, hypothyroid, C-PTSD, chronic pain, chronic fatigue, adrenal fatigue, hypermobility, gastroparisis, POTS, IBS and more, could these be the cause of the estrogen sensitivity or is it caused by a dyregulated system maybe?

To understand more about sensetivity to broccoli, cauliflower, brussel sprouts, cabbage... I would look at goitrogen and iodine
@HealthyGutGirl
@HealthyGutGirl 2 жыл бұрын
Hello! There are a few reasons these foods can trigger or inflame any of those conditions you mentioned. One is they are goitrogenic which can suppress and slow thyroid function further putting one in a hypo-metabolic state. They are also hard to digest especially for someone who has compromised digestion. And these things can have a downstream effect on estrogen, worsening estrogen dominance. Best to avoid!

I think the ideal scenario is you can eventually eat them when your gut / system heals, I don’t really believe there’s any foods we shouldn’t be able to eat - maybe some non ideals ones but shouldn’t take us out if we eat them

Yes these foods do not support thyroid health, you need more animal fats, foods that help the body to relax because a well-fed/fueled body is a body that can finally relax, that is happy and this in turn supports the creation of progesterone

I'm interested in hearing about the discrepancy between what is said about animal products vs estrogen dominance among popular and new thinking. We hear animal products are horrible for estrogen dominance and I myself have improved hormonal symptoms when I cut out most animal products. However some people say we need animal products and it's being said here. I think people's must be vastly different when it comes to what diet works for who. Every book and source I've read on fibroids says to eliminate and severely reduce animal products and when I do that I see improvement 🤷🏼‍♀️ I find animal products morally repulsive as well so perhaps that has something to do with it. I don't believe we should eat based on morals however, as that ignores our bodies real needs in favor of the mind. So if I crave an animal product I'll eat it since I figure my body wants it. But I don't notice any improvement in menstrual symptoms unless I eliminate animal products, wheat, sugar. The soy thing is baffling too. Studies show no negative effect from eating soy in men, and people in blue zones who eat soy regularly have the best health on the planet. I just wish more studies were done on WOMEN and women's bodies specifically because we are so vastly different from men especially hormonally. I think it's much more complicated and individual than we think. Thank you for the great video. This topic is SO important anrnim so glad more talks like this are being done. Women do not understand our own bodies. It's an epidemic.
@HealthyGutGirl
@HealthyGutGirl 2 жыл бұрын
If you have better health cutting out animal products, well it's certainly hard to argue that. Proof is in the pudding as they say. When we promote animal products, there is a caveat which is to say, high quality, grass fed, pasture raised, raw dairy if possible, and also kefir! Just like vegetables, poor quality animal products and commercially raised with pesticides and added hormones, soy fed, grain fed, all of that is not only horrible for our health but horrible for the environment. This goes for commercially grown produce too. We have to keep in mind even plants, almost all plants have their own hormones as well. In fact phytoestrogens, though fine for some women can really worsen estrogen dominance. The best thing we can do is consume the highest quality of food that we can afford. And keep doing what's working. ;-)

Have you thought that maybe why you feel better is because you don't eat grains or sugar..... Meat is medicine its what we evolved to eat like our ancestors did .. Cows are designed to way grass Koala bears designed to eat a certain leaf.. If they ear anything else they are not designed to eat they get sick... We are not designed to eat grains or sugar or processed garbage we see now in grocery stores....

What kind of hormones are we to be concerned about after menopause? I always presumed you didn't need to worry about hormones after becoming menopausal.
@HealthyGutGirl

Hormones are crucial for life through life, albeit much lower levels. But pregnenalone, DHEA and progesterone are safe hormones to supplement that help donate to make all other hormones.

This video is so huge to me. I lost confidence in doctors. I had hysterectomy and after that huge emotional burst, they gave me a lot of medications SSRI etc and now I’m finally off. I found somatic work, SBSM. Now, I sense I have probably hormonal disbalanse also (age and operation) but I have no confidence in any doctor here. I hear say in video that is Ok to try the natural products for 3 months and sense the body in that period. I will start trying activated Maca - is there an opinion on it? Is there any conntact online you have or can suggest for consultations? I would realy like to go with the nature and help my body the right way. Thank you Irene for the oportunity to hear new discoveries!

Interesting. She talks about Premarin containing horse hormones and is against it, but then she is fine with eggs and animal products, which are high in their respective animal hormones. You can't have it both ways. Personally, I find that ingested animal hormones, just like the birth control pill I was on for a decade, have caused my hormone system great harm. Now in my 50ties, I am rarely consuming animal products. A little of that goes a very long way. I believe that this is much more helpful to my body in this phase of my life post menopause. 🙂

Yes I've noticed I only crave chicken, fish, or beef a couple times a month. No dairy. I was vegan for 6 years and quit when I realized you can't eat based on morals and ego. Your body and health doesn't care about morality. However, since then I eat mostly plants and it's improved my health.
@HealthyGutGirl
@HealthyGutGirl 2 жыл бұрын
I am not against Premarin because it's an animal product, I am against Premarin because it is not BIO IDENTICAL to the estrogen you make. It is molecularly different and your body treats it as a XENO estrogen which is BAD BAD BAD. In addition you cannot avoid hormones in live. Even plants are filled with phytoestrogens which for women who have estrogen dominance can be very antagonizing. And that is fantastic that you have reach balance in your 50's, that's a real accomplishment while many women are struggling at this transition. WELL DONE!

@@HealthyGutGirl I am a little confused. Is phytoestrogens a chemical that promotes estrogen or lowers it? For someone who has endometriosis for example, could eating broccoli be bad? Or is this something I should experiment with?

thank you for this. im so confused, i am in perimenopause and been struggling with symptoms for years, been misdiagnosed with chronic fatigue but have recently been offered the mirena coil (because i need progesterone as I have a womb) and estrogen transdermal patches. I have no idea how I can support myself with replacing my estrogen levels and feel better without HRT? is it better to use the progesterone tablets placed internally?

Mirena is a medicated synthetic birth control made of PROGESTINS not Bioidentical to the progesterone your own body produces. I would consider Bioidentical progesertone instead! Much safer.
