14:06 I do actually own some of these old mcdonald's toys for each line! All the mcdonald's shopkins are bigger then the normal product. The fashion series is pretty good, basically just large shopkins, The happy places series was probably the best since it was actual furniture but it was, again, basically just large shopkins, and then the cutie cars are decent for what they are, but dont compare to the actual cutie cars (Which are smaller, metal, and painted on designs) Something else is there was also a release for mini shopie dolls, which were hard plastic and sized much better with shopkins, yet i dont know when exactly they were made (Thanks for listening to me being a shopkins nerd ❤)
@Glimmerheart23 күн бұрын
This unlocked a random memory for me! I was obsessed with Shopkind around McDonalds had Shopkins in the Happy Meals. It was one of the few trends I ever really got into at my school (every year there was some grade-wide obsession. I think 7th grade was fidget spinners, and 5th grade was the Easybands or whatever they were called (it was those little rubber bands that you made bracelets out of)) Anyway, I remember my mom and grandma taking me to McDonalds one day, and I was so excited to get the Dhopkins in my Happy Meal that I asked my mom to get me another one. I sort of remember her commenting to my grandma, "Well, it makes her eat"😂 (I think back then I used to finish, like, two or three out of the four chicken nuggets I would get, but when the Shopkins were in the Meals, I ended up eating maybe...I don't know, six total)

I am so severely glad you made a video about the Shopkins. Because, let me tell you, I might've been the biggest male fan of Shopkins to ever exist. I have been collecting them ever since they were first around back in 2014, and my collection would only grow from there. And I still love the Shopkins to this day. And I especially fell in love with the Shoppets when they were first released. And even more so to this day. This might be the inner furry in me, but I absolutely ADORE them! I even made my own Shoppet sona, who is essentially a video game themed dalmatian named Pong Paws. I showed him to someone who works at Moose Toys through Gmail, she showed him to everyone she's working with, and they loved him. She even sent be an official sketch of Pong Paws as a gift. Which is incredibly sweet of her. Another thing about the Shoppets, I saw the Wild World movie on Netflix back when it came out, and, gonna be honest, Pupkin Cake and Rubie Blaze might be one of my first OTPs. I can't help but feel they radient lesbian energy off of each other. And on the topic of Wild World, here's a fun fact: Donatina was voiced by Abby Trott. AKA, the singer of Lifelight from Super Smash Bros Ultimate! Which is honestly really cool, since Lifelight is one of my absolute favorite songs in a video game. By the way, i must mention something somewhat tragic. I've noticed that CookieSwirlC has been deleting a lot of her old videos, including a bunch of her Shopkins videos. Which honestly really saddens me on a personal level. If anyone here has downloaded any of Cookie's old Shopkins videos, please let me know. But anyway, enough rambling. This is an incredibly made video regarding the Shopkins, and you did an excellent job, Lula! I truly hope that the Shopkins will return in their usual form some day, and I would especially love to see the Shoppets come back too. Update on CookieSwirlC's videos being deleted: So, the other day, I messaged Cookie on Twitter, asking her why her old videos have been deleted. She said her videos are being deleted because KZbin has been deleting them themselves. And she said that this has happened to other KZbinrs. So, this wasn't her doing this, it was KZbin themselves. I am still currently talking to Cookie about this, so this might be updated again soon.

I barely know anything about Shopkins, but I love the designs of the Shoppies dolls. They're really cute, I'm a sucker for dolls with large and cartoony eyes, and some of them are extremely well designed, especially when it comes to the later released dolls (Lil' Secrets Jessicake looks just like Hatsune Miku and I love that so much). As someone who loves character design more than fashion design for dolls, Shoppies are really good in that regard. It's a shame they're not articulated and have moulded on tops, but I don't mind that too much if I'm honest.
@LocalTorchwoodIntern8 ай бұрын
Honestly same, as someone who collected shopkins here and there, I loved the designs of the dolls but if they had more of an option than the skirts to be swapped they prolly could've performed better! They could've had the 5 points some barbies do of articulation and I would have gotten them.

I'm ngl, as an australian i was never aware if shopkins truly reached far out of here due to how little i ever saw them being spoken about, aside from by very popular youtubers like cookieswirlc at the time. I had a LOT of shopkins growing up, I even remember my first shopkin being one in a childs magazine I got from the smoke shop with my dad. I think a lot of information may be hard to find, or some things may not be heard or, as there were quite a lot of australia exclusive little things that came out with it. I do remember having all the maccas toys and at least 2/3's of every season growing up, too. I stopped collecting in 2019, but i did get a few here and there that kind of went to go sit at the bottom of bags in our storage shed lol. I was into basically EVERY kids toy out on the market tbh, i used all of them to play in unison, and i love how your channel continues to remind me of the things that brought me joy growing up that i'd almsot forgotten about. My collections are all sitting in a plastic tub, or two, and have been for the last 7 years (dad died in 2017, so we had to move and pack all our stuff into storage sheds loll), but i can't wait for the day i open those tubs again and am reminded of that part of my life, and the long list of exclusives i have. Also, correct me if im wrong, but i believe there was actually a regular shopkin of Gemma Stone? Though they may have been australia exclusive, but i think i recall having one. I also had a shopkins blanket, and all of the dolls :D Though, those were from vinnies and salvos (had all the pieces, but also obviously owned by an.. active child lolll). Anyways, I love this video so much, logn comment but oh well.

I don't know if they ever realised, they cut us off once dad died (her dad was dads coworker), so who knows. I would leave with them shoved into my pants waistband and up my sleeves lmaoo, I was a born thief i think bc I do that shit now still too, and I'm in my last yr of hs.

Tbh it was the Shoppies for me what got me into them 😅 I never really cared about the Shopkins in general the dolls is what got me more motivated to collect them, I remember getting super excited whenever a new character was added I don’t know why but there was something charming about them that made me love them, especially The Little Secrets line. But during the Shoppies run I did notice a sudden change when it came to ‘shop style’ for the Shoppies where they made them more affordable but came with less stuff, and have notice they have released the Shoppies dolls less and less in 2019, and if I am correct I think the last Shoppies doll was made was Winter Frost? but after that it was pretty much over for the Shoppies line. Now for Kindi kids I did not like them one bit not a fan of dolls based off of little kids or baby dolls in general, but ever since Kindi kids was released I think that’s where I knew that was gonna be the end for Shoppies, but I’ll still treasure the good times I had when collecting the dolls.

My best friend and I are on the older end of Gen Z (both born in 1998, she turned 26 in January & I'm turning 26 in August), but we both collect toys and Shopkins did have a chokehold on both of us (mostly her). I recall she started collecting them around 2021 & would give me any double she got (and there were a lot, so when she would get the same ones again she started giving them to her younger cousin too). I swear they disappeared quietly bc we stopped seeing them in stores in the middle of 2023.

I only got like 2 of these things cause I wasn't super into the designs and didn't find them super interesting as actual play toys. But I vividly remember watching unboxing after unboxing of them on KZbin back in the day. Man how time flies.

when I was little, my grandma used to get bins of oddly spisisfic toys off of eBay. one day she got me and my cousins a bin of used shopkins, (I wouldn't usually point out that they where used but a quarter of them where LITTERLY covered in paint) and even though we where probably a bit above its target audeince, we played with those things every time we visited. I also had a lot of the dolls that are probably stocked away somewhere right now. Fly high, grandma, you where amazing.

A couple of things to add because Shopkins were my whole life as a kid: 1.) The Happy Places and Cutie Cars lines were not just included as McDonalds toys, you could find them in stores! Happy Places had a few playsets and even had their own plastic doll line (with interchangeable rubber outfits) to go along with the theme. Cutie Cars were metal cars with removable tops that came with a VERY small Shopkin to sit in the driver's set. They also had their own line of sets. 2.) I think it was briefly mentioned along with the movies and channels, but Moose also had a Shopkins cartoon series on their KZbin channel that was about the Shopkins themselves, in their grocery store, having their silly adventures. Specifically want to mention this since this was made before the Shoppie dolls (if I remember correctly, idk if they added the Shoppies later). I have watched the Spilt Milk episode way too many times. 3.) About the Shoppies dolls, I personally thought that they were pretty well made, and almost completely abandoned Barbies in favor of them (could've just been the autism idk). While looking back through my collection, I've noticed that some of my dolls' shoes fall off pretty easily, and the same goes for the headbands that didn't still have the rubber bands from the packaging (I liked to keep my dolls in good condition lol). Most, if not all, of the dolls I had have really soft hair that was satisfying to brush through and touch, especially my favorite doll Gemma Stone. Yes, that was a real doll with the same name as the gemstone Shopkin and I love her. There was also a special edition Shoppie, Angelique Star, that I got for Christmas one year, and still have her in the box in pretty good condition because I was too scared to open her 😭👍. Just wanted to add this since not a lot was said about the dolls themselves. The Kindi Kids were really nice quality too and were super cute! I had the larger marshmellow one when they first released, and absolutely loved her! I also had one of the Polly-Pocket-esque tiny doll/playset that was also advertised in one of the clips shown. It wasn't exactly my favorite, but it was still fun to play with. 4.) I don't know if this is an experience anyone else had, but at my local Toys R Us (rip you will be missed 🪦💔) there was a free Shopkins trading event where they cleared the entire shelving space in front of the registers, set up a good few tables, and invited all of the kids in the area to trade Shopkins. There were probably a couple hundred kids there with their parents, and I remember getting the second version of the danish from season one from a girl around my age, traded for one of my duplicates that she didn't have. It was actually really chaotic from my memory, and we did leave after about an hour, but it's one of my best memories of that era besides building special Shopkins shelves with my dad. Sorry that was a lot lol 😭 I was really crazy about Shopkins up until they turned into Real Littles, they lost me there unfortunately. Still, I wanted to share this because I don't think some parts of the Shopkins brand were as widely known as the Shopkins themselves. I was also a huge fan of Cookie Swirl C btw, I got one of her shirts and started collecting becuase of her.

I have an obsession with miniature foods, so when Shopkins came out, I just HAD to get as many as I can (which wasn't a lot, but I managed to get a decent amount). Watching Cookie Swirl C's videos about Shopkins only made me want me to get them myself along with the playset! Such fond memories 🥲

this video was an absolute joy to find, as i found most of my shopkins yesterday and started setting them up like i used to. i have a lot of memories with them, especially the shoppies. suprisingly, they're in decent condition, aside from having to brush some hair and hot glue a leg my dog had chewed off. i plan on going through them again and maybe finding a way to display them and redo their hair because younger me wasn't the greatest at taking care of them. poor daisy petals, he hair looks like pollyfill stuffing. who knows, maybe i'll start collecting them again soon, or at least the shoppies, because i still love them so much.

Even though I was still into Club Penguin, My Little Pony, and CookieSwirlC, my obsession with Shopkins began when I received one in a birthday party goodie bag. She had an important role in my youth via her involvement with Shopkins, My Little Pony, and playdough. For me, it all started with Nick Jr., Disney Junior, PBS Kids, and, alas, sprout, which was later rebranded as Universal Kids. I found it strange that I like so many cartoons from various networks, but I did. I even watched Super Why. Monster High and Ever After High were relaunched and everything, so I missed out on them. I even recorded myself opening toys for fun; they are some of my favorite recollections. I still enjoy those cartoons, and I still have my Shopkins-you can find them in my closet-even though I'm a high schooler now.

oh my god I’ve been waiting so long for someone to make a video on shopkins because that was my sisters THING!!! (helped me realize she’s probably autistic) She had a shopkins themed birthday and some of the happy place furniture toys are rotting away in our house. Shopkins is such an important part of our girlhood. We still have the Mexican doll but we lost her shoes. I also remember a Alice Wonderland Mad Hatter Shoppee doll?? We also had the fuzzy baby shopkins but I distinctly remember how gross they became after a while. We still have the first movie on DVD, probably burned into our dvd player, and some of the books. Plus, she used to play the fuck out of those games. She remembers a lot of details from this video, like we had to pause ever so often to remember where we saw certain dolls or shopkins. I hated the real littles line/rebrand though, it took away a lot of the cuter look for brand names instead. I feel like they also started popping up around the time that ToysRUs were dying out. We love your channel btw, you really dive into things that have been forgotten in our childhoods.

Somebody *finally* made a video about this~ Shopkins is my favorite toy of all time. I would draw a ton of fanart, collect them from Season 2 to Real Littles Era (or known Season 14-16- I think and at the time of this time-). to the best I could, and other things related like plushies to other little things. It makes me sad that at my local Target, the “Shopkins” Sign is still there but, underneath, there is a lot of Mini Brands, Miniverse, and other non-related items to them. But, that’s just change and another thing that we grew up with. (I still wish they can some of come back tho-)
