That graphic for Jordan Addison was absolutely deserved and I respect you for not shying away from it. How the hell you end up driving drunk after your OWN TEAMMATE JUST GOT KILLED by a drunk driver is beyond me. These athletes are blessed with among the most incredible opportunities in human history and yet some of them just seem determined to throw that down the drain for the sake of a cheap thrill.

Texans fan popping by to say take care of Cashman and Greenard. Both great guys but both with similar issues (durability). Cashman is super underrated - he's an absolute top LB in this league that can do everything, so long as he can stay healthy. Played all the linebacker positions in Demeco's defense, but was the best Mike we had by far. He managed to actually avoid IR for once as well, but was clearly playing injured at the close of the season and it very obviously affected his game.

I rode a bicycle downtown to go bar hopping, and after 3 drinks had this weird feeling of not knowing whether or not I was properly stopping at lights, and having to really focus to be proving to me I was driving okay, staying on the shoulder away from traffic.Quickly realized if this was so difficult how could anyone even try doing this in a car. Luckily it's hard to just root for a WR2 who's a piece of the puzzle, but I'd rather root for DeShaun Watson than Jordan Addison, even if DUI's are tragically so common that we forget about them eventually.

Flores might have to be my pick for the best defensive play caller. He's just so good at making his players better. The Vikings had no business being a top half defense last year (and I'm a Viking fan). I swear every year I keep sweating that he will get a Head Coaching job, because he should. As for the QB ranking, that should probably be to be determined because of the JJ. I suppose that is more of a long term outlook so in this year mindset I get it. I loved Darnold signing, being in a situation with actual support (not just players but coaching). JJ is not going to start, that is all but guaranteed, to start the year. they may have spent the 10th pick but they are taking the route the Chiefs took with Mahomes, Packers took on Love and Rodgers (though likely not as long) .....not that he is any of those just the general method for a year. It also goes because O'Connell's offense is pretty complicated to learn. Which goes to why Darnold is even better for them right away Ya....that's fair for Addison. I love him, of course i mean on the field he's great. I want him to be great, he can and he showed it. He needs Cris Carter to be like a mentor for him. He had similar issues. Completely honest I think he has the potential to be a number 1 if he can get his head together (Not in Minnesota, Jefferson is pretty much a forever 1). I was like a few days away from getting his jersey, still hope to, but will be waiting to see if he gets it together. Also Darrisaw is 71 not 73 (just a small correction, not a biggie) Definitely a year where they are planning for JJ next year

I'm confused about the letter grades assigned to the coaching/player groups. I thought they were based off a set range like 1-5 is always A, 6-10 is always A- ect. Having them set 6-8th, 8th-9th, 2nd-6th looks a little weird. It's like they are trying to be ranked more specifically but are still being given a range.

He groups all the teams with a similar score together and each group is given letter grades.

They're arbitrary tiers. So pass d coaching, for example, has 1 team with an A+, while run d coaching caps at an A. It's just grouped based on who he has similar opinions on, so he doesn't have to deal with splitting hairs between similar quality coaches/position groups. And that means there may be a two team tier, or a ten team tier.

I hope Sam plays well but I would be so disappointed if we pay him after this season because JJ is a lot more talented than Sam

What would the Viking offense be ranked if Sam can even reach 20th at qb

That week 2 game against the 49ers is one that the Vikings can win, and I would guess will win. The 9ers struggled against the Vikings last year, and ultimately lost that game.

Great deep dive as always. Playoff upside for sure but definitely a reset year for the Vikings. I just want to see signs from McCarthy that he can be a franchise guy. Don’t want him sitting the whole year. Coming in after the bye week could be nice. I want to take the over on the 7.5 bc even with the tough schedule I think we can get to 8+ wins. 7 is probably the floor for me. I don’t think they do any worse than last year with Dobbs/Mullens starting half the year. There is a chance JJ is just better than everyone thinks and Flores goes demon mode and we are playoff contenders. Maybe a 10 or 11 win team at the very highest. I think more likely we see signs from the guys you want to, we get to 8 or 9 wins, miss the playoffs, and then really start to address corner and IDL. Marshon Lattimore is probably not going to be a Saint next year and idk if the 49ers can afford Charvarius Ward. Plus Kenny Clark could become another Packer turned Viking. As far as Super Bowl contention it feels like we’re a year away from being a year away but it pretty much comes down to the QB.

There is no comparison between McCarthy and Trey Lance. Lance played like 8 games total at QB at ND state. McCarthy was a 2 year starter at MI and a lifelong QB.
