Great review / explanation of this unit! You actually explained it better than the Pioneer consultants on the KZbin channels. The only questions I have are; 1. When adjusting that mag clamp, does it cause the record and or control vinyl to rise up off of the platter? 2. Are the torque features, within the unit itself, strong enough for scratch DJs to perform high-level scratch / beat juggling routines without the aid of the mag clamp

@@OgDj2024 1. When you loosen the clamp for a “slippier” feel, it does raise the centre off the platter. Kind of like how on the Rane 12s, they would give you washers to put under the slipmat for a slippier feel. 2. Absolutely. The feel is modelled after the old vestax pdx turntables which are heavily coveted, but are also hanpin super oem decks which are great for scratching.

@@djsoo thank you for replying! What’s very funny to me is, I posed the same questions to one of the Pioneer reps on KZbin and he could not answer my question. It seems like the Pioneer guys become very annoyed when you ask them more than one question, because all they wanna do is promote their product and sell it to you. Then, after you get the product, you’re frustrated because you don’t know what’s going on when running into issues with it, and you become even more frustrated trying to figure things out through Customer Service.

Hey great video, dumb question here maybe, these can still play just regular analog vinyl (not timecode) correct? Maybe I missed that in the video. That's the real selling point to me with an old vinyl collection but still have access to my newer mp3 collection.

Yea, that’s kind of the point of the whole turntable - that’s why there’s a tonearm

I love this deck but I just wich they added 2 pitch bend buttons! So many mix Djs like to fine tune the tempo buy squeezing/pinching the centre spindle to slow it down as well as giving the spindle an extra twist to nuge it forward. These mixing techniques can't be applied with these types of turn tables. (Rane Twelve MK2 has the same problem) This isn't a problem for scratch and battle Djs. At least the Rane One has PB buttons 👍

It's the same problem when using a phase remote 🙄

Actually, with the magvel clamp you can grab it and twist so it gives you something similar to the old nipple twist of old on the spindle. Rane twelve actually has a hidden pitch bend control. Hold 33 and press 45 and it pitch bends up, do the opposite for down. Not ideal, but it’s there. You can also access the pitch bend buttons on your mixer if you have one of the scratch ones with an internal mixing mode control bank). You can even map the pitch bends to some of the controls on the twelvez That said, I’ve been using spinning platter controllers/cdjs since the denon 3900s so I’ve just changed my technique up a decade plus ago and I have no issues even maintaining long blends

2 pbb would be pretty cool though, and a full bank of 8 pads like the rp8000s

It’s just timecode so it’ll work the same as using a serato record in vdj - same with djay pro
