This deep dive was about as deep as your cleaning standards at Southern cross.

southern cross isn't operated by metro or v/line, it's run by a separate private company

I’m not sure if a 2:40 long video can be called a “deep dive”…

Why is State Library station being built when there's already Melbourne Central there?
@LachlanKellett Жыл бұрын
Because the Metro Tunnel isn't connected with the city loop, and because there is already the city loop at melb central they'd have to go deeper and potentially disrupt the city loop services. Besides, doing it this way, it's a short walk between stations and people can change from say the Cranbourne Line to get to Southern Cross or another metro line that operates through the city loop to wherever they are going

It’s so it can connect to Melbourne central station underground, making it easy to transfer to different train lines.

I think its because of the direction. Melbourne Central has all its platforms East West whilst State Library and the Metro Tunnel runs North South. I guess they could have called the entire new interchange Melbourne Central though.

because Dan and Allan want the project despite the overwhelming objection from experts and the public, you can guess why!

I have had an absolute gutfull of " AMAZING " ! These days if something is not " AMAZING " , them it must be " STUNNING " ! There are so many other descriptive adjectives available , so perhaps it's time to consult the thesaurus ! These cliches are well beyond the point of being hackneyed , but at least that other overworked term "ICONIC " was not noticed here . These comments apply across the board , so this video is not being singled out . ( No offence intended ! ) I would describe the project in this video as spectacular , monumental , majestic , impressive , remarkable , incredible , wonderful , striking ...

The old design looks so much better and more minimalistic

If only this much effort was/were to be put into the rest of the Melbourne network to make it far more reliable and usable than it is now for regular users. Hahahahhaha......sorry, I was dreaming.....

I thought that, after seeing the crimes against beauty perpetrated in the 70's and 80's, the world would finally and definitely be safe from a resurgence of the dreadful orange in architecture. Seems like it is not, humanity never learns... sigh ! The initial white designs were much much much nicer and could have been adapted to the new structure, instead of those gaudy orange arches. Leave orange to nature, the only environment where it fits. The white sculpted arches of the initial designs were much more classy, almost heavenly. Anyway, any new public transportation infrastructure in Australia is good to take. And the video is interesting.

That’s what I thought but a lot of people seem to disagree and use the soil conditions as an excuse. The old white design had less concrete sticking out and was a lot more minimalistic and looked like stations of the Moscow metro.
