"Has a tendency not to effect the face" I've pretty much always had some on my sides, eyebrows and cheeks. I had about 80-90% of my face covered with psoriasis at one point. I didn't know it was kinda uncommon. But it defiantly wasn't good for my mental health when I reached that point so I finally pushed myself to get into treatment. It cleared my face completely at first but now it's starting to come back but we're (my doctors and I) are working on it.

Same!! Till this exact moment I didn't know it was so uncommon. My face is almost completely covered and I don't know what to do. It started 5 years ago with some patches, now it got worse and keeps getting worse!

@@casiangeles11 if you can, go see a doctor/dermatologist. It made me so much happier when I started treatment. The first time I felt normal, soft skin behind my ears I started crying. I hadn't had that in more than 10 years. I believe mine is starting to come back in spite of treatment because of stress and not taking care of myself - so I'm putting more stress on my body.

Great advice overall. I've had psoriasis since I was 3 years old but was misdiagnosed for years as most doctors believed it to be a stress related illness in the 1970's rather than an autoimmune condition. My parents spent a lot of money and time bringing me to people looking for a cure. I'm so glad you emphasised that there is no cure. When I got old enough to manage my own diet and lifestyle I made changes that had such an impact. Diet and exercise can really benefit. I also take fish oil capsules daily, omega 3 or just cod live oil. Introduce more oily fish into your diet. I had to give up smoking, definitely doesn't help. Alcohol gives me flare ups too. Skin care I keep as simple as possible and have been blessed with lovely skin on the face. I use the most natural products possible. Silcocks base is a great raw product. It's used as an ingredient in a lot of skincare but using it on it's own as a cleanser and moisturiser is great. It's very inexpensive too. On my body I use baby oil the minute I step out of the shower and then coconut oil when I want something more intense. Thanks for addressing this so well. I'm so happy there's more awareness now as my childhood was quite miserable being turned away from swimming pools and children not allowed play with me in case they would catch it!!

I was recently diagnosed with psoriasis and it is mostly on my face, scalp, ears, neck and hands and a little inside my nose. I have done a lot of research trying to find the best face wash and moisturizer that I should be using as well as shampoo. Can you recommend anything? I live in a very small town and the closest Dermatologist is 2.5 hours away and is booked up until the beginning of February. So I am looking for any tips/advice until I get in to see a dermatologist. Thank you!

She’s not wrong though. I experienced the first remission I’ve had in years by improving my gut microbiome through the use of prebiotics, probiotics, and digestive enzymes. Improving the gut microbiome effects our immune system which is the source of psoriasis. I also increasing omega 3’s to calm inflammation, and this last part is crucial- i started using topical and oral vitamin d. There are medical studies that have identified a strong correlation between psoriasis and low vitamin d. Improving gut health made me better able to absorb and utilize the the vitamin d I am taking. I am in no way an expert but I’ve been battling psoriasis for over 20 years.

@@babashahbaz6629 . Firstly identifying and removing foods from my diet that noticeably inflamed. I found milk, cheese, gluten, excessive sugar, deep fried food, white potatoes, tomatoes (plus other nightshades) and whiskey, to be very inflammatory. I either dramatically cut my intake back or in the case of cola, whiskey and fried foods, stopped them completely. I replaced cola with homemade juices (spinach, carrot, and wheatgrass were extremely beneficial for skin) and stated to eat more nutrient rich foods. Stopped fast foods and packaged foods. I started supplements of Vitamin D3 (5000 UI) daily and fish oil (5mls of liquid) daily. I started to drink more water. I took measures to reduce the stress in my life by attending meditation or yoga classes. I used cold pressed coconut oil for skin care, rubbed it directly onto the patches. It took me just under one year to totally clear every plaque off my body. Thereafter I would have the occasional flare up, if I ate something I shouldn't have, or experienced extreme stress, but those flares have completely ceased since I also started supplementing with Zinc daily. EDIT: Vitamin D3, Fish Oil, and Zinc are all *must* have supplements to clear, but of course you will also need to make an effort to avoid inflammatory foods too. And if you can afford it, a marine collegan powder taken daily can also be beneficial. It is a bit expensive (I buy a 240 gram jar for $73.00) and it is not something I use continually every month, because I cannot afford to. But I have read lots of anecdotal information of people having great success clearing with marine collagen along with the supplements I mentioned prior.

I'm desperate for a better solution. I've been to 3 doctors and tried almost everything except the shots. I've taken Psoriatane, methyltrexate, various ointments and even the UV light. I've been taking 10,000 IU of vitamin D3 as recommended by my last doctor but nothing has changed. I'm going to try the Vitamin D3 cream as I had a little bit good response from that. I've also try to eat fermented foods like kim chi, miso soup, yogurt and probiotics for leaky gut, but that hasn't worked either.

....Are you eating dairy yogurt? Dairy is really bad for psoriasis. Vitamin D3 is an excellent supplement but maybe not enough by itself. The best combo I find is Vitamin D3, Zinc, Fish Oil and Marine Collagen.

if you don't eat much fat, you may end up not absorbing vit D. Take a supplement of Vit D + K to help. 10,000ui is not enough. you need at least 30,000 ui per day. Also add Fish Oil for vit E and fatty acid.

I recommend you to try natural ways. You can also use steriod creams but only to manage it till you find a cure.

???? 😳 That is terrible advice. Unless you scratch patches and cause an infection, there is no point taking antibiotics for psoriasis. They only upset your gut flora, which in turn will make psoriasis worse.

Had eczema my entire life - now I have Psoriasis but thankfully for now, it's only on my left hand and left armpit. The armpit is new, small and not bad - but my left hand became pretty bad before I started taking good care of it. My own fault. But, I can't afford medical insurance / a trip to the dermatologist. Even a simple checkup with no medical insurance will run you upwards of $200+ and that's not even counting the overpriced medicine that I'll be prescribed. It's unfortunate, but that's life. Hopefully Eucerin and conscience effort will be enough. If not, I guess I'll suffer.

“It has not returned.. I followed #dragbonifo procedure … took my vitamins… stopped smoking…. Reduced alcohol and sugar…I also drank the Herbal mixture of #dragbonifo and it disappeared in 1 month… has not returned… I swear it… over the counter medication and surgery won’t help in the long run… finally it also helps to know your status

@@christiandemeter2131 my skin update 2 months later : hasn’t spread any further - thank god. Have been taking exceptional care of my hand and it seemingly gets better everyday. I tried many different creams and ointments and the one that seems to work really good with my body chemistry - is Cortizone with Aloe.
