A diagnosis for Samuel

Welcome to Herding little Cows to the glory of God
We're not your typical family, and this isn't the typical KZbin channel. Sara and Mark live on the coast of Maine and have been married for over 20 years and as of this writing (November 2023) we are expecting our 10th child. We believe that children are a blessing from the Lord and that marriage is a gift to be celebrated as well as a relationship to be invested in.
Content on our channel ranges from pregnancy and birth stories to therapy strategies for children with brain injuries. We talk about home education, sing hymns, and share the simple joy of childhood. In a nutshell, we open up our lives and our homes in hopes that our experiences can be a help to others walking through challenges. Hi Sarah, very interesting. Our family has a genetic muscular dystrophy called occularpharyngeal muscular dystrophy. My grandmother , Father and sister have it, I haven't been diagnosed yet but I also have some symptoms. You guys have a mirage of diagnosis over there in maine. Well, God will see us through.

I knew growing up that I got it from my father. But because he was such a hard worker, I never felt that he was lacking anything. My father was more involved in many things (coaching sports, volunteering for building sets for plays), that I always felt blessed. I never saw him as lesser, so never felt that my future would be hindered by the CMT.

I noticed Samuel walking differently on a previous video where he was walking across the driveway. I knew right away he had CMT. My husband has 3 sibling with CMT so I’m familiar with the symptoms. Glad he got diagnosed and will be getting his braces. They make a huge difference. ❤

Sara father had CMT as did a couple of his brothers. Samuel was fitted for braces this week and should have them within a month. He’s looking forward to more stability and found the braces very helpful in office when they tried them out. Thanks for your comment.

thanks for sharing with us and samuel & sara i can relate to not being to hold big things when walking and i ALWAYS looking down when i walk and have bad gait not sure i think mine is more mine might be more the neuropathy or arthritis not sure but i will be praying for all of yours health i know progressives issues stink i have some too :(
