A different perspective on the console release - New World: Aeternum

I know this may not be the most popular take on the console release announcements, but I really do love New World and want to encourage as many console players to play the game on release. I also believe that for many old New World players, there is a lot more content and many changes currently in the game and coming with the release that is definitely worth checking out.
Although AGS has let the players down in the past, I am hopeful that this can be a turning point for the game and we can enjoy the game we all love with even more players.

The criticism is directly proportional to the love we feel for the game. No one is disappointed this badly and loudly for a game they do not care for. I appreciate your positive attitude, but it comes off a tad naive. In five months, post console, they will be in exactly the same place. The console launch is necessary, but fixing the root cause issues that lead the game to lose hundreds of thousands of players should have been their priority. I really, really, hope you are right and that I am wrong on this one.

I definitely agree that both the criticism and positivity are because we love the game. I really wanted to show that there are still some positive things to look forward to and to keep some hope alive that there's still a chance that things can turn around. Obviously, AGS still has to make major changes for things to turn around even if the release goes perfectly.

i still think the console release will be quite buggy, possibly 2021 levels of scuffed. going to be fun either way, if it comes out good then great if not the meltdown will be entertaining too

Both sentences doesn't mean the update and path New World is following will make the game better. Wait and see. But 3 years in, they screwed too many opportunities, digging slowly the grave. And I mean, people gave them more than enough chances.

I appreciate your optimism. My big concern is that most console players were not raised in the MMO period and are all first person shooters. I am not sure they will get the bang for their buck on console.

war mode will be the changing point, if scott is right and the game plays a lot better that would be big for pc players. But yeah where is our pvp he marketed for 2 years to us. Some small crappy island won't do it.

As someone who played for a month when the game came out and haven't touched it since then the updates sound pretty solid for the longevity of the game. New World has been slowly dying and this may be the only way to revive it, bring new players, and new revenue.

Oh no, someone wants to stay positive about the future of the game. How is Aqua “out of idea” with what’s going on? Because they want the game to strive and is not complaining about the current state of the game? He even acknowledged that the devs really need to get it together. If you’re really upset about the game, stop playing. You can’t be too done with the game if you’re still watching content. Great video Aqua! this is a pure "IF" video wasting time. Players do not create content, they only consume content, so even if you add people, the content is still stale and old.
