It was tough to believe. The New York Jets with three extra days of rest found a way to pull defeat from the jaws of victory on Sunday as they inexplicably lost to the Denver Broncos 10-9 at a rainy MetLife Stadium. There is no way to sugar coat this game. It was an utter disgrace. The Jets threw away a game against an opponent they should have handled easily. In losing this game, they raised plenty of questions about how good they really are and how successful this team might be. Things won't get easier going forward. We will see how the team responds.

Great show. Your indignation was spot on. The Jets share a problem with the Mets. They don't have enough big game players. Not necessarily superstars, but players who support superstars in big moments. Robert Saleh should've been fired after the Miami loss last season. He was the wrong San Francisco guy. The Texans have a head coach. Saleh's a football novice; in 2001, he was working in the WTC. As you said, he's an excuse maker, a bald-headed soccer mom. His defensive scheme, the only one he knows, is stupid. It was always lousy against the run, because his linebackers are too small and wear down. Worse, he knows even less about offense and the selection of lieutenants. Compared to him, Todd Bowles, who's riding Baker Mayfield, looks like a genius.

The difference between NE and the Broncos, NE sat back in coverage and Rogers was able to pick them apart from a clean pocket. The mistake from the coaching staff was to expect Denver to play the same way. Denver game plan was blitz Rogers early, hit and harass him to force him to throw quick short passes, then combine that with press coverage, with no where to throw the ball. I credit Denver's intense pressure causing the O-line to jump rather than Rodgers cadence. The mistake of the Jets coaching was over confident that they could rely on having the better QB to win the game.

The Jets looked like they were unprepared for the game. Personnel decisions were questionable. Play calling wasn't so hot either. They had extra days to prepare. Penalties are on the coaching staff. Lining up in the neutral zone or a false start is on coaching. Running into a player calling for a fair catch is inexcusable. The coaches did not have the team prepared to play. Jets have been undisciplined since Saleh became HC. New England had backups playing due to injuries. How many games will Rodgers miss? Teams often win games they aren't supposed to and lose games they are supposed to win. Happens all the time. Guess extending Hall is not automatic. Maybe not AVT either. If Jets were going for a FG why not give it to Allen and try to bring it in closer? They also had two time outs. If Jets still commit penalties like yesterday they lose to Steelers. Am subscribed and even hit the like button.

Coaching matters - Sean Payton & Vance Joseph Out coached the entire Jets Offense. Nate Hackett is trash. The Jets Defense line got exposed by Denver's O Line (who is our O Line Coach?) . Guess it was a bad idea letting many of our Defensive linemen go in the hopes of signing Reddick huh (that's on the GM)

The Jets OL lost this game. OL couldn't pass block, OL couldn't run block, and at least 5 penalties. And then play calling of not running Allen instead of Hall. When it was obvious OL was not opening holes and Hall was being stuffed and Allen was able to power through creases.

Looking at the schedule, it looks to me that the Jets could lose the next 3 to 4 games. This would put them right on schedule for their usual "Out of the Playoffs Running" status, which they usually achieve around Thanksgiving time. Boy, I wish I could be more optimistic, but I just am not. HC Saleh is the worst HC in the NFL. Why he made it to a fourth year as HC is beyond me. His record as HC is totally abysmal.

@@Edward19892 Hackett as OC of course gets blame. But Salah as HC bears brunt of responsibility. Salah had personnel to win so JD is not at fault. All Saleh had to do is play Allen instead of Hall after 1st qtr and Jets Win. Hall 10carr 4yds and terrible in pass protection. Allen 8carr 34yds and 1 catch 12yds. Rainy night, running crucial and Saleh didn't intervene. Not acceptable.

I agree 100% that this team (1) may not be as talented as we were led to believe and (2) was not ready to play yesterday. What upset me most was that, in the 4th quarter on back to back plays, receivers failed to recognize audibles Rodgers called. How does this happen? I'm confident Rodgers said something after Garrett Wilson missed an audible on what could have been a big play. I honestly feel sorry for Aaron Rodgers. Rodgers is trying to hold people accountable, he is trying to change the culture of an organization from a losing organization to a winning organization. But he cannot do it alone. Maybe benching Garrett Wilson for a quarter or a half? Or maybe benching McDonald? A message needs to be sent that a subpar performance will not be tolerated. You were right to be angry. As a Jets fan since 1963, I have come to expect performances like this. If Rodgers can't get help to change the culture, we are in for another disappointing season and a new GM & HC in the offseason.
