May 22, 2020. A domestic flight ends with a disaster as an Airbus A320 stalls into a rural area of Karachi and causes an inferno.
The Pakistan Airlines Flight 8303 heading from Lahore to Karachi in Pakistan will be the second major air crash of the year 2020.
It's one of the first flights happening after the complete quarantine and full air traffic stop in the country. Passengers are mostly residents of the destination city, flying back home for the religious holiday taking place shortly.
[Very recent accident, further investigations may provide new or different details.]
During the first approach the aircraft is too high and too fast for the glidepath.
Surprisingly, the pilot tries to land the aircraft unannounced with the landing gear retracted.
Both engines scrap the runway pavement several times and the aircraft executes a go around.
While flying the pattern, both engines lose power, probably due to the heavy damage after hitting the runway. The pilots call for Mayday but it's already too late.
The aircraft stalls into a rural area, just one mile away from the threshold.
98 people on board lose their lives, 2 survive and one person dies on ground.
