splatt mentioned that KZbin was griping about his videos going over 30 minutes. whatever system KZbin has, it sorts by length, and Splatt apparently wants to remain in the 30 min rank. used to be he'd run anywhere from 25 to 55 minutes. now at about 30 min he'll shut it down no matter what's happening.
@tjk3430 Жыл бұрын
@@vforwombat9915 I noticed Raptor still does longer 40-55 min (non-live) vids. Plus he uploads like three, 3+ hr live streams to YT like every day. Does YT demand shorter vids or is it meant as a helpful suggestion?
@vforwombat9915 Жыл бұрын
@@tjk3430 "Does YT demand shorter vids" idk the rules. i am pretty sure but not positive that length of videos is segmented and different lengths have different rewards or rules. some folks do purely short form- under 10 minutes- and i think those get treated differently than 30 minute vids. you can do longer vids, one science content provider i watch- gutsick gibbons- does 1-4 hour vids regularly. but i THINK monetization of different lengths is different. as for Splatt, all i have to go on is one offhand comment he made once about youtube giving him lip over his video lengths. i do know after he made that comment, his video lengths settled on 20-30 minutes, where before they'd often gone longer.

Stone Age people weren't stupid, in fact if we consider nutritional data from fossil humans in stone age such as the fact they were as tall as post industrialized food supply humans with large complex brains its more likely than not your average "caveman" was more intelligent than your average Bronze age to Renaissance peasant. Coming up with drastic new ideas and ways of life like agriculture isn't as easy as sitting at a desk like in Rimworld, especially when everyone has to be more concerned about food than anything else.

@@Dyanosis no grid system yet there is a hex system, the resource management and collection is mirrored over, you pointed out the fire management is similar, its exactly the same. The research tree is the exact same 4-tier research system, and the social tech splits into ideologies. Even discontent. Its more than inspired by Frostpunk, its taking its homework right now. There ARE differences, but cmon, you have to admit almost every feature of the game is ripped from Frostpunk. Thats not to say that it cannot change, but I stand by what I said, that its copying too much.

I really liked Frostpunk so having similar games is awesome, and the premise of this game is really original (tribal ppl surviving SK's The Mist :0). Fantasy and lovecraftian horrors aside, the idea of associating fire with safety and the fear of darkness/unknown horrors is really rooted on the history of our species, fire specifically was used to give us shelter from the environment, to give us warmth, to scare predators, to cook and secure food, etc. That's why the fire was sacred and worshipped by many ancient cultures, we see it represented in, for example, Zoroastrianism's Atash Behram or the Sacred Fire of Vesta from Rome. It's such an important element to humanity even today.
