Welcome. I just remember being hypnotised by the scores being called. Then I had a pommy mate who spent months trying to convince me to have a game of darts with him. Reckons I'd love it. I couldn't think of anything worse. Eventually.. I ended up spending a lot of my spare time in that garage playing darts. Hammered on beers and rum. Smoked a few packs of darts every time.. Best times of my life. Sad, I know.. And a getting to be a long time ago now too

The thing with Fallon is that, when you look at her tournament wins, she's not necessarily a overall bad player. They're all recent too. It's just, you put her in a league like this with the guys, she's going to never shine, despite all of the fluff revolving her. She needs to stick to her level and earn her way to be with these guys. I hate in general when commentators say missing a double is an "error". Like, man, an error is miscounting, going for the wrong double, leaving yourself on a bogey with your opponent in striking range etc. etc. Missing double top by 0.01mm with 40 left is not an "error."

If you want to promote women's darts, 1 woman from each area/country should have qualified on their side of the draw. Fallon's place on the 'elite' side should have been given to another top player. Then there would have been different faces filling the 'women's spot'. This in my opinion would have been better promotion than seeing Fallon lose almost every game and would have given an extra spot to an 'elite' player.

The first 9 refers to the average score of the first 9 darts thrown per leg. They make this distinction as the first 9 darts are always thrown to get the maximum score possible so i think it's just to give an idea of the scoring power of the player without the average being taken down by the double attempts and setting up checkouts etc.

Some counterweight to all the mocking of the Sherrock situation: even though she is playing very mediocre stuff, she actually upped her game over this world series. Doing that under the incredible pressure of all the expectations/social media hate/being off form and far from home, that's actually impressive. That doesn't mean that all of the criticism is unwarranted - some of it is. But I think she's still proving she has a special kind of mental resilience. Personally, I would have crumbled and swum back to England weeks ago in her situation. But she keeps trying. (Also let's not forget that her invites to the World Series were still standing from two years ago, when she was going toe to toe with the likes of Wright.)

this series surely has to be the end of the disastrous Fallon experiment. she won a couple of games in the Palace when it was new and the players felt weird playing her (and her combination finishing was excellent). but that's a long time ago now. she consistently high 70's mid 80's. it just isn't good enough. she hasn't earned a tour card. Fallon has a real sense of entitlement which was built on the PDC gifting her invites to big tournaments. It’s quite clear that she expects to beat players like the one she lost to in this video. The reality is she’s a mediocre darts player who will lose far more than she wins. I appreciate that I sound negative here but she’s achieved nothing of major note in the game and should not be taking places in tournaments like this when she averages in the 70s/80s more often than not.

Overly critical of Fallon ! Which I think is unfair as it’s still very early in the development of the women’s game and to lift their consistency and averages will take a few years and more women in their game to push each other . Imho only time will tell.
