Hi Cari! I have a book rec for you. The Name of the Wind written by Patrick Rothfus. Its a high fantasy and holy butts his books are works of art. Upside: the books have the most comprehensive and intriguing world building I have ever read. You can read them a million times and discover new things. Downside we have been waiting on book 3 for about 10 years. Check it out if you want. Also fair warning each book is like 1,000 pages 😁

Book recommendation: The Passage by Justin Cronin, plus the two following the in trilogy. Not “fantasy” fantasy with fairies or magic or anything but definitely have an unnatural side. Quite long books, but I read them all very quickly. The writing isn’t unnecessarily descriptive but it still fills in everything you need. The character development is great, and overall the characters are just really believable. Also, (not fantasy) if you’re interested in trying out some stuff written by Australian authors (I’m Aussie so the writing really connects for me, might not have as big of an impact for you but) anything by Richard Flanagan - The Narrow Road to the Deep North I can highly recommend, and also by Hannah Kent ‘Burial Rights’... holy moly that one is a goodie. Would really love to hear your opinions on these books on your new channel! ☺️☺️☺️

I have been praising ACOTAR for every friend of my mine who likes to read; and we all've been loving it (and generally every Sarah J. Maas book). If you have some time you should read the Throne of Glass series by her (it is an already finished series with 7 book) and it is just the best! (I am currently reading the 4th book) I am so happy that there are youtubers who advocating for literature and books, and you are one of them! I for sure will follow your second channel aswell! Love your channel! I highly recommend The Mapmakers Trilogy by SE Grove. It’s YA. Kind of fantasy sci-fi I guess. Plays with time and historical eras. I stumbled across one of the books in a small local bookstore. Bought it for my niece. Then wound up getting them all and devouring them myself.

Another serie that I would recommend to you is Shogun by James Clavell if you haven't read it. It's so detailed and the author really makes you get immersed into the story. It's a really nice read! ^^

I never finished the ACOTAR series but I loved her rants about them haha. if you're still on a ya fantasy kick I'd definitely recommend Laini Taylor's work, she's created some of my favorite magical worlds!
