I had the privlidge of meeting the original owner and playing this guitar, it is stunning. I met her when they contacted me for private dog training lessons. My briefcase is styled after the old tweed fender cases and often was the topic of conversation. When I explained the story about the briefcase she said " I'm learning to play guitar would you like to see mine", being a guitar geek I of course said yes. She returned from the bedroom with a very nice black case, set it on the dining room table opened it and took out this magnificent instrument. My jaw almost hit the floor then she said would you like to play it and handed it to me. I was so excited and nervous I wasn't sure what to do but I managed to compose myself and played it for a few minutes. She put it back in the case and returned it to the bedroom it was about this time her husband tells me she is so proud of that guitar and happened to mention what she paid for it!!!!!, I almost passed out. It truly is a magnificent instrument it played like a dream and sounded even better.

I really enjoy and appreciate the content you put out. As a hobby woodworker, I am mesmerized by the beautiful craftsmanship of your instruments. I never seem to put it all together when I watch you work until you play the guitar in the final videos. Then, as I watch and listen, it dawns on me. "Oh, wait. These stunning works of art make music too!" Well done. You are a true artist. Well done!

In the millions of videos on KZbin there's some of Lowden's winter edition of 2018. He made 25 Tiger Myrtle guitars which sound truly stunning. Your guitar is right up there with a bit more aesthetic appeal to boot. A gorgeous instrument well done.

Here in Tasmania, we just call it myrtle haha. It's such a nice wood to work with, the blackwood made a nice touch (would have been better if it were Tasmanian Blackwood though haha). But the biggest missed opportunity here is not using Huon pine for the soundboard! Also, check out Tasmanian Sassafrass, especially the black heart variety, absolutely stunning wood. And that's some amazing work on the inlay, even if it looks nothing like a Thylacine ;)

Definitely one of the best sounding guitar I heard from all that you built. So one question: as you constantly are in hunt for very special woods, is there a part of kinda " coin flipping' regarding the sound who will come out of your guitars?

Lovely in every regard and a beautiful sounding instrument with stunning artwork - I love the inlay and woods you used. I wish this was in my price range, but alas it is not (not even your base price is in my range, lol). To be clear, I'm not saying that this is too expensive, for what you have done I believe it is very fairly priced - I simply can't afford it. I'm sure someone who can will get a truly great deal - it really is beautiful! I enjoyed the video anyway though!

Wonderful instrument with beautiful wood choices. I think you are right in comparing the Myrtle to Walnut. I don't hear the Maple comparison, which I find a less appealing wood. The guitar sounds best (on the video) when strummed with a pick - much like a dreadnought. Great video. Thanks, John Gig Harbor, WA

I was mildly appalled at the idea of someone spending that much money on a guitar when they are first learning, but coming from the violin world, it's chump change compared to some of the violins out there. I know a professional violinist that dropped north of $200k on her violin 😲

can't believe you do such amazing inlays. As soon as I saw your guitars I thought "wow I could get an awesome wolf inlay on a guitar..." Except that I'm very traditional when it comes to acoustic guitars. So I think I'd rather just have a classy and simple one. :S
