As a person who’s brand new ic7100 delivered today. This is a literal nightmare. I’d rather be lucky than good and you my friend are super lucky. 😅

Back in the day, circuit boards were routinely washed with distilled water during manufacturing. Some companies just used an automatic dish washer. Of course, must ensure that everything is fully dried. Could consider baking at 220F.

I worked for Tektronix years ago. All electronics thatvcame into the shop were washed with water and acthin soap solution. Itbwas then blow dried and then placed in an oven at 140 deg F for 24 hours. They all came out fine and fixed dirty connectors.

Now clean that filthy control head 😂 I operated a flow solder line in a circuit board shop and all of the boards went through a shower of distilled water and then denatured alcohol after soldering. Fluids are not the end to electronics. You did well Eric

My son once spilled a cup of root beer on to his laptop keyboard, we got it all cleaned up, but the weirdest thing, the wifi never worked again. There was nothing wrong with the wifi card, tested it in another computer. What was even stranger, is that even a USB wifi dongle wouldn't work. Seemed like it caused a failure on with whatever logic that told Windows to turn the wifi on and off. He remained wired until that laptop was replaced with a gaming PC.

Open it up fill it full of 91% alcohol, then dry it out. 50% chance. Yay!! You made it!!!

Flush with distilled water is what they tell me. Let it sit in sun for awhile. Advice...don't make this a habit.

it's best to shut it off, flush it with isopropanol alcohol, then blow it out with compressed air. in a bind wd-40 works too but i wouldnt leave it on the pcb, clean it off afterwards with alcohol. oil can bind particles and form a conductive dirt layer.
