@@KGFClassicCars Very nice to see one like this again. It's a beautiful car. The bumpers also are still very nice and dark, and the black Vauxhall badges haven't faded off the wheel trim centres like they did at just a few years old. The Cavalier L was a light, fast car as well, almost matching the same-age Ford 2.0 Pinto.

My dad had a 1986 1.6 L 4 door when I was learning to drive. I really liked that car. I was gutted the day he had me take it to the local scrap yard. If I had storage, I would love a mk2 Cavalier.

I think in fairness Vauxhall interiors were always a bit drab and at odds with their sometimes extravagant exteriors. Mark 2 Astra GTE looked like it had come from space at launch, but digi dash aside it was just Vauxhall doing their thing. Calibra too, just such a contrast between exterior and interior. But I think they were quite well put together, but you also have to weigh it up against everything else in the period. I think they were a little uninspiring compared to the rest but it's not like anyone was doing anything terribly pleasant.
@Samspianopage8 ай бұрын
The Sierras, PSAs, VWs, you name it of the same era were really no better tbh. They were all dull & dreary as. Heck even BMWs & Mercs were quite drab with thier black vinyl panels & stodgy dashboards, albet they were well put together I'll g8ve ye. Only folk really puttin any real effort into an interior back then imo was yer Luxury makes. Maybe some of the Alfas, Lancia's & Citroen too but ye get ma drift. Most mainstream interiors weren't that extravagant. They all followed similar design trends of the day much the same as they do now, black, black, grey & Occasionally silver n the odd splash of colour here n there.
