A Fairytale Castle in the SNOW! Neuschwanstein Castle in Germany | We were left behind | VLOG

Its our first FULL day in Germany and we took some time in the morning to adjust to the time change, slept in and then decided last minute to take the 45 min drive to go see Neuschwanstein Castle in the snow! It was the perfect day for it so we headed out in the early afternoon. It was a GORGEOUS drive through Bavaria. Our journey up the hill to where the castle sat was interesting. First we all loaded up on a horse drawn carriage. That was fun. When we got to the furthest point on the road we unloaded and pre-purchased the tickets to ride back down upon the drivers return. Tim and I decided to venture up the rest of the way to the castle so we could get a closer look. On the way back down we noticed the rest of the group still waiting for the carriage to return. We found out that they were done for the day (at 4pm) and weren't coming back. Fortunately, Tim was able to communicate our frustration to a kind couple that took him back down the hill to get the car so he could come back up and get us. It was quite a fiasco....one we can finally look back at now and laugh. But, I assure you, we weren't laughing so much that day LOL. Overall I am so glad we went to see this fairytale castle...It has been on my bucket list for a while. I wish we were able to do a tour but sadly we waited too long to book it and they were sold out the day we were there. With our tight schedule it was probably best we just did an outside tour ourselves anyways. I will say though that I would LOVE to go back someday so we can go inside and also walk on the bridge (which was closed due to weather). The entire property was breathtaking and I can absolutely see why it was the inspiration for so many Disney castles. So so magical!

I was freezing seeing your mum in just a pullover in the cold! and thank you for visiting the the countryside of Germany❤️😊. I can also recommend Austria if you ever thought about going skiing in Europe, but be careful, people get easily injured skiing :(.

We absolutely LOVED it there! I seriously cannot wait to come back. We never get to see snow and mountains so it was just breathtaking but I would like to visit during autumn too. Next time I definitely want to try to ski (though I don't think I'll be very good haha). Thank you for the recommendation!

I’m definitely warm blooded here in the south so it took some adjusting when we got there and it was snowing 😂 SO pretty but SO glad I packed my smart wool to wear underneath everything!

You’re American English is not crappy 😆 Here in the states we have a brand of plant based “meat” called “Beyond Meat”…that’s all I was referring to 😉 I was just suggesting that maybe that’s what they used to make the burgers. Delicious whatever it was!
