Some residents in Florida have stocked up on food, gas and generators instead of evacuating as Hurricane Milton bears down. Venice resident Tommy Hall says he and his family are going to ride out Milton as they have previous hurricanes. (AP video: Joseph B. Frederick) Read more here: apne.ws/cWnMRpk

My parents are in same predicament as the people in this video. There's no gas left, and with Georgia and Carolina's damage, where do you evacuate to? Do you risk being stuck on the highway during a hurricane? I'm just crossing my fingers and praying they will be ok. They have their emergency radio ready, that's about all they can do.

I been n a category 5 typhoon, with my family n here I’m. One thing I learn is that losing everything doesn’t matter, all material things can be replaced, but not our lives. He is well prepared island style, n an island is no evacuation to another place, you ride it, that’s it. Typhoon, or hurricane how they call it here are very cleansing, physically n spiritually. As long you leave the bathroom window open, n all the inside doors open to, to avoid the home from imploding, he will be ok. Oh, n all animals that can’t or don’t want to take them inside, need to let lose, their chances of survival are much higher.

This is a storm that hasn't been seen in over 100 years by Floridians! You just don't understand how bad this one will be, from Ft. Meyers to Tampa. There will be no less than 8ft of storm surge to upwards of 15ft. 15 FEET! To a single story home, that's all the way to the peak of your roof! For a 2 story home, that's to the ceiling on the second floor. A 6ft tall person would have to stand on the rim of a regulation height basketball hoop to keep your head above water. A semi truck would be completely submerged. Most harbors are as deep as the predicted surge, for a cruise ship! There's a reason that evacuations are being ordered days ahead of the storm's landfall. Help will be unavailable during the storm. "You stay, you die" is what your leaders are saying. Last minute running is not wise. Get out now! Anything lost is replaceable, except for lives.

I'm ready, see everybody how prepared I am? Yep, we all can see and that means literally nothing against storms of nature and "Especially" unnatural weather patterns. I have been waking up out of my sleep for sometime now 2am -4am and just praying for humanity as a whole because for many of us whatever is getting ready to happen outside of this hurricane is heavily on the spirits of Many! I do wish them well especially trusting family members who have more faith in man than how dangerous this storm could actually be.
